No star absolutely terrible experience. Rooms damp and smelly., our package included an evening meal and when we were handed a so called menu printed on a piece of shabby a4 paper with a choice of two main courses PORK CHOPS OR WHITING FISH we were spoiled for choice Huh ; .we asked for the A La Carte menu as we have no problem paying supplements and Surprise Surprise they did not have one .At this point we decided we had enough and went into Kilkee town to eat. I CANNOT stress strongly enough our complete and utter disappointment with our experience at Kilkee Bay Hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. Hope Lidl will find this review helpful and take appropriate action.

Faulty towers comes to mind. I have never stay in a place that was so badly ran. The staff were really thrown in at the deep end. There was absolutely no managment structure or organisation with in the hotel. Only that the staff were so friendly and nice we would have ran out of the place. The beds were hard and short of pillows, the shower was like a dribble and the bath hot tap wouldnt work when we complained we were told the tanks needed time to refill, there was no bath towels they only had 2 hand towels for 2adults and a child!!! The hot breakfast was COLD they ran out of orange juice. We were promised the water priblem would be fixed but when we returned after been out for the full day it had not been. There was no other room they could give us hotel was full.talking to other guests they had the same water and towel problems.we were booked in for 3nights and tried to leave the second but could not find alternative accomodation. I definately would not recommend this hotel to any one.

2 DISAPPOINTMENTS AT THIS HOTEL, 1ST WAS THE ABSENCE OF A LIFT TO UPPER FLOOR,THEY DID OFFER TO HAVE BAGS CARRIED UPSTAIRS BUT CLIMBING STAIRS 2/3 TIMES A DAY WOULD HAVE BEEN BEYOND ME GIVEN I HAVE A RESPIRATORY PROBLEM,I WAS OFFERED A GROUND FLOOR ROOM RIGHT AWAY, NO PROBLEM,ROOM WAS BASIC AND HAD A DAMP SMELL,BUT THAT DID NOT BOTHER ME AS IT WAS VERY CONVIENENT TO THE FRONT DOOR AND MY CAR AS WELL AS THE BAR,BUT THE BEDS WERE HARD, YES HARD DIFFICULT TO GET COMFORTABLE ON,ALL THAT SAID i HAD TO LEAVE A DAY EARLY FROM OUR 3 DAY STAY DUE TO A FAMILY REASON AND HERE THE HOTEL LEVELLED THE PLAYING FIELD WHEN I INFORMED RECEPTION OF MY INTENTION THEY IMMEDIATELY REDUCED MY BILL BY THE FULL ONE DAY CHARGE SOMETHING I ,VE FOUND TO BE A RARITY WITH HOTELS FOR WITH I WAS VERY IMPRESSED BY THE RECEPTIONIST,S CARE FOR MY SITUATION,SO ALL IN ALL THE LOCATION IS GREAT FOR CLARES WEST COAST AND YES I WOULD GOOD BACK BUT WOULD INSPECT ROOM FIRST BEFORE ACCEPTING,AND IF THEY INSTALL A LIFT..

Upon entering our room, it smelled and had not been cleaned. Hotel then offered us another room but this too wasnt cleaned. Finally, they gave us the Bridal Suite (posh eh!) but the bathgroom had not been cleaned and there were stains down the walls of the rooms. I appreciate the efforts of Reception, but I will not stay here again. We booked a different hotel after all this

Room was adequate no bath towels - shower over bath - no bottle of water in room- hard to open door had 1 evening meal booked with booking and when we asked for it on second evening they asked did we get card on checking in so they had to check in reception to see if included - Asked what was the details with swimming pool as stated on information book in room and were not able to help said to say that we were staying at the Kilkee Bay Hotel - When we went to swimming pool they had books there that the Hotel should have. Felt that they were not organised at all. Evening meal that we got was cold and informed them about that. Bread that was left out for breakfast was frozen on Sunday morning. The Staff were friendly but definitely only 1 star Hotel. They would definitely need more training. Arrived Friday afternoon and check out Sunday. They were taking full amount off credit card when I booked in and as you know you have taken some off when booked and balance has to be paid then.

This is a very nice hotel. Food was very good and the rooms and hotel are kept very clean but most importantly the staff were really helpful and kind. Enjoyed Kilkee Cliff walk and Loop Head drive very much. Will definitely return here again.

Lovely hotel, very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Only 5 min walk into the main part of Kilkee. Buffet breakfast and dinner was very tasty. Only small faults - tv was tiny a waste having it there. The temperature/pressure in shower was very hard to regulate so ended up with cool showers and the room was bit cold.

We had a lovel stay in the hotel. Bedroom was very comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Dinner was excellent in the hotel. More toys and games need to be available for young children i.e. 0- 6 yr olds, in the playroom. There also needs to heat in playroom, no radiators in there, would like sweet vending machines to be taken out of room.

All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The room was adequate for our needs, although some items were missing, such as large towels, hair dryer without a plug, etc. Small things which were slightly irritating. Quiet hotel.
