Difficult to find anything bad to say about this hotel. Great food, friendly staff ,good location. Would have no hesitation in going back or recommending to anyone.

Eileen scored 5 / 5 on 06/09/2020

Friendly, helpful staff throughout the hotel, restaurant and bar. A room upgrade was arranged when we had a very small problem with the room - first class customer service. Great location for touring wonderful Wicklow. Well done Parkview in these challenging times.

Stayed here on a overnight mini staycation break with husband, very impressed with this hotel. Comfortable rooms, great breakfast and dinner with good and courteous service from the staff. Felt safe there are policies in place for COVID 19 that were executed to a very high standard, with temperature checks, good social distancing measures and wearing of masks by all staff. Rooms cleaned and sterilised after each visit. Newtownmountkennedy very central and within easy driving distance to all attractions in Wicklow . Would stay here again

Fionn scored 4 / 5 on 19/07/2020

We stayed two nights. Service in thee red bar/restaurant was excellent. Reception clean and staff very courteous. Room and bed very nice with a riverside view. Quiet at night. Our room was not serviced on the first day which was disappointing as there was barely enough milk for two cups. They did leave a bag of spare towels in the wardrobe so that wasn’t an issue. Overall good hotel and worth a stay.

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and all the precautions taken due to Covid19. The food in the bar was excellent.

Claire scored 3 / 5 on 07/07/2020

Went on first opening after covid. Everyone finding their feet again and doing their best. Well worth a visit, very central location for touring. Will go back again when things open up more. Food very good and rooms spotlessly clean.

Sachin scored 4 / 5 on 04/07/2020

Food quality and service was good. But i paid for 2 course dinner and when we selected we were told that we can not order from hotel menu. Then they provided us different cheap menu with limited options. Was not expecting that kind of cheating from hotel.

A lovely two evening spent in this very pleasant clean hotel, all the staff were very helpful and cheerful. The food was very good also. Nice having breakfast made promptly to order and not sitting for ages sweating under lids. Altogether a delightful few days.

Barbar scored 5 / 5 on 04/05/2017

We arrived at the hotel and the bar was packed and as i wanted to watch the match we started to head for the pub up the road. The barman ran after us and gave us the table right under the table that was reserved, NOW THATS SERVICE. The lady who was serving us couldnt have done more. Food was great. Rooms are spotless. All in all if you want a little relaxing night away you will not get better IMO.

Geraldine scored 4 / 5 on 27/04/2017

My husband and I spend a lovely weekend here recently, one of many,we have been coming here for near on 10 yrs.Its a 3 star hotel ,but in my opinion it should be a 4 star,The rooms are like new all the time, and some have balconies overlooking the river,The resturant has great ambiance, and the staff are amazing . Geraldine

Ian scored 5 / 5 on 31/01/2017

Very surprised it was a three star. The staff were so friendly, rooms were spotless with a coffee machine, which was a nice touch. All they needed was water in the room to bring it up to a 4 star. We would definitely come back. I have stayed in Wooden Bridge and Druids Glen a few times, and I would prefer the Park View. The staff made all the difference.

Patrice scored 3 / 5 on 20/09/2016

Great central location for exploring all of Wicklow. Will stay again.

Ann scored 5 / 5 on 13/08/2016

Very nice hotel. Staff were very friendly. We got dinner in hotel both nights- one course was a little bland which staff noticed when it was not eaten they immediately apologised offered any replacement meal and gave us a free drink in ways of an apology. Room was very clean and quiet. Great spot to have as a base when sightseeing in Wicklow.

Squib scored 4 / 5 on 12/06/2016

I enjoyed my stay, the room was lovely and clean although the water was a funny yellow colour from the shower and sink. Our evening meal was outstanding and breakfast was too. the staff were extremely helpful. I possibly wouldn't return but only because I'd like somewhere with more facilities I.e. swimming pool etc... plus there was no nightlife in the village.

It was a lovely Hotel we should definitely stay again. One problem was in outer room the tv didn't work so we had to change room but other than that it was great and the staff were friendly. We will be back.

Glynis scored 4 / 5 on 22/12/2015

We have stayed in this hotel on 4 occasions and have never been disappointed. The rooms are spacious, clean and bright and much nicer than rooms in 4 star hotels we have stayed in. The food is excellent, again, at least as good as 4 star hotels we have The staff are friendly and courteous. We will definitely visit again.

Aoife scored 5 / 5 on 02/11/2015

What a fantastic three night stay. I could not fault this hotel. The staff were extremely pleasent to deal with and very helpful and efficient. The hotel was immaculate and well maintained. I only ate lunch in the hotel once but it was faultless good food. The location is perfect for anyone looking to explore Wicklow, half way point from glendalough, wicklow town, bray and greystones. There isnt much in Newton Mount kennedy itself but the location is perfect for you to visit the wildness of wicklow to the bustling side of Greystones and Bray. I would definitely return to the parkview hotel.

Tony scored 5 / 5 on 31/08/2015

Stayed two nights in Parkview. This is a very nice hotel, staff extremely helpful and both breakfast and dinner were first class.

Liz scored 3 / 5 on 05/06/2015

Recently stayed at Parkview Hotel - on balance an excellent experience. However, on the negative side, disappointed to find we were allocated room with disabled bathroom facilities including very high toilet & large chair in the shower, this was not alluded to by reception staff - was expecting bath per advertisement. Inadvertently pulled emergency cord in bathroom next morning which elicited no response! View of car park, otherwise room nice & comfortable. On the positive side, dinner excellent, staff friendly in bar & restaurant. However, breakfast mediocre.

Maxine scored 4 / 5 on 03/06/2015

Had a lovely stay at the Park View hotel on Sunday last. Room was lovely with a small balcony very clean and well decorated. Food and staff were excellent. Even had entertainment in the bar which was a nice surprise. Would definitely recommend.

Anthony scored 4 / 5 on 06/05/2015

The Lidl break at the Park View hotel was excellent. The room was really lovely, and the dinner and the breakfast were really tasty (my only issue with the dinner was that the portions were huge and the starter and the main course left no room at all for dessert!!). Overall though a brilliant experience and I would recommend the hotel to all of my friends. Thanks. Anthony (Dublin 8)

Beautiful Hotel. Staff extremely helpful. Rooms lovely. Really enjoyed our staff at your hotel.

Daveh scored 5 / 5 on 06/03/2015

This is a lovely hotel, it is not a top end 5 star hotel but it ticks all the boxes for cleanliness, good value for money, nice food priced to suit the client but what makes this hotel stand out is the staff. From the reception desk to the bar and all the other staff encountered were courteous, friendly and helpful, as a group they were without a doubt the best hotel staff I have ever encountered on my travels.

Hargun scored 5 / 5 on 02/09/2014

We had a Today Fm deal 1 night B+B with a 2 course meal for 2, and the whole experience was first class. The meal was brilliant the room was terrific and the staff were all very attentive and helpful. One small gripe would have be that it would have been brilliant to have music in the bar that night, but again that is only a very small gripe in what otherwise was a really enjoyable stay.

Ellabella scored 5 / 5 on 21/08/2014

The Parkview Hotel was excellent. We booked a family room on line but I rang the hotel first to say that we had three children and they said to just put that in the comment box. On arrival we got a huge room with a double bed and three single beds. Normally we just get a double and two singles when we book a family room. The room was very spacious and very modern. Not like the old fashioned looking rooms on their website. We ate in the bar/bistro that evening. The food was delicious and really good value. Breakfast next morning was really good, fresh fruit, all the cereals, bread, croissants, pastries and of course cooked breakfast. The staff were very very friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay there again. It's a great base for exploring Wicklow.

Very tidy, clean hotel. Staff were a pleasure, especially manager on duty when we got there (Blonde Girl). Ate in bar (Lunch) and that night in the restaurant, great value for money, quite tasty. It's a pity they have no gym/pool, but otherwise lovely stay.

Lovely hotel with fantastic helpful staff. The rooms are spacious and spotless with plenty of tea and coffee. One small fault the tv reception is poor

Lynn scored 5 / 5 on 30/10/2013

We booked at late notice via the Lidl website with a few requests for the room. The staff were extremely polite and had no problem at all facilitating all our needs. The room was well appointed, spacious, and all the mod cons you'd expect from a 4*, and so well above standard for a 3*. The restaurant deal we purchased with the booking was excellent value (note though a small surplus if you wanted steak), and the meal was of very good quality with a warm, friendly, non-invasive service. The breakfast was made to order, and served piping hot with good size portions. So if your looking for a break away from the kids, in a quiet location - look no further than the Park View. I think you'll agree you'd be pleasantly surprised.

Dermot scored 3 / 5 on 29/10/2013

Nice hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Stayed one night, bed and breakfast. Only problem very quiet on Saturday night (Bank Holiday Weekend) in bar. They should have some entertainment on in the bar. Our friends (5 couples stayed for two nights and they said it was the same on Friday night, too quiet in bar.

The Parkview is a lovely hotel, very clean and inviting. The food at dinner and breakfast was of a high standard and absolutely delicious. The only complaint I would have was the lack of entertainment, some live music in the bar would have been nice!

This hotel was perfect for a family occasion. While the outside of the hotel wasn't much to look at, inside, it was comfortable and modern and the evening meal was exceptionally good value for the range and quality of food. I would stay there again as a base for exploring Wicklow.

Booked a girls night away for last weekend in the Park View Hotel. Really nice hotel, reception very helpful on checkin, Rooms were very nice and quite spacious. The Bar area is very comfortable and staff lovely, the bar food that was being served all around us looked and smelled delicious and we could'nt wait for our 2 course meal that was included in our package. The restaurant was lovely and again the staff very helpful. Well it was worth waiting on. Our food was delicious. Something for everyones taste. Next morning our breakfast was perfect and again something to suit everyone. The only downside was on the website it stated that checkout was 12 but on reception it stated 11, so we felt it rushed us a bit. Overall would not hesitate to stay here again.

Selkie scored 4 / 5 on 05/03/2013

Hi, We all had a lovely time at your hotel, the staff were efficient and friendly. The food...... great! My only complaint ..... the pillows were far too hard ( bed a bit on the hard side too) Pillows great for propping up to watch television, for a cosy sleep not good, as the hotel is in a walking area, I think TV might not be a prority, a night's sleep very important. ( Maybe one soft pillow, one hard one would be the answer?) Anyway, I would certainly go again .... Regards

We had a lovely nights stay in the park view hotel. Hotel was really lovely (spotless clean) and staff very friendly and helpful. Food was fab at both dinner and breakfast. Would highly recommend for a nice little getaway! Will definitely be visiting again !

Dubliner09 scored 4 / 5 on 19/02/2013

The hotel was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were ultra modern and spotless, same goes for the bathroom. The bed was enormous and very comfy. The inclusive evening meal was outstanding. Huge portions, great value and fast efficient service. Just note that when I booked through Lidl they said it was a 2-course, it is in fact a 3-course meal! Also Lidl should inform people that the steak was 5 euro extra. Only a small point I accept but the more clarity - the more satisfied customers, a simple philosophy. Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. It is well worth a stay. As far as the town of Newtownmountkennedy is concerned, there is nothing to do or see there on foot. But if you have a car there are many attraction close by such as Glendalough. Lidl say check out is 12 midday but at reception it says 11am so that needs to be clarified, again not a major point but make it clear in the hotel information link - everyone always welcomes an extra hours grace on the morning of departure!

I had a romantic notion about a boutique hotel nestled in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains - this hotel far exceeded my expectations! I was pleasantly surprised at how immaculately well kept is the village of Newtownmountkennedy - trailing petunias cascading over numerous hanging baskets dotted along the litter-free main street. I was super impressed with the modern spacious bedroom - complete with mini fridge and "bar" area. And a small balcony too made a pleasant change from standard hotel windows which barely open out. The bar and restaurant have a colonial style, high ceilings and a great feeling of space. The food arrived in huge portions and I felt guilty in leaving so much behind despite it being very moreish! Very glad to have stumbled upon this hidden gem and I've even booked a return visit!

Kate scored 5 / 5 on 28/09/2011

We could not recommend the Park View Hotel highly enough from the reception where the staff were extremely helpful, throught to the up keep of the entire hotel. #The rooms were of a high standard, clean and comfortable. Food in the hotel is of a high standard and reasonably priced. We had both lunch and dinner found both extremely good, and waiting staff were very nice. a hidden gem.

Loved every aspect of the hotel. From a fabulous room to a wonderful dinner. I could not fault anything. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Tara scored 3 / 5 on 30/06/2010

The service is the restaurant was too slow - reception staff were average - hotel's name is a misnomer we only had a view of a car park - lift wasn't working. On the positive side it's location was perfect for touring Wicklow and the room we stayed in was without a doubt the best one that we have stayed in - all the extras like a jacuzzi bath, bath robes, fridge made it extra special.
