I stayed here on Saturday the 20th and was disappointed.
The food was lovely but the portions were very small. I got no side to my meal but my partner did, which made no sense. I would have been left hungry only he gave me some of his sides. The coffee was also burnt at the meal and again in the morning.
Positives: the breakfast was substantial and the service was excellent. The surroundings and ambiance was perfect.
MAJOR let down was the fact that whoever took the booking did so with NO consideration for me. They put me in a room BETWEEN 2 families. The children were let run freely and noisily up and down the corridor and in and out of rooms, banging doors. They made a LOT of noise up to 2 in the morning! IF I was put in another room this hotel would have easily gotten 3 or 4 stars. When I complained all the receptionist said was, "Oh sorry, who would let their kids do that?"
Such a nightmare for a belated Valentines present that could have easily been a DREAM.

Very good price for B&B with dinner. Nice cosy bar, could do with music on a weekend. Nice meal although I didn't like the 2nd menu for people on a deal, I would have liked two courses from the normal menu. I saw one of the waiters bullying a younger waiter, pushing him which was not nice. But then I saw another senior waiter give out to him so it must be a culture in the dining room?? The bedrooms rooms were basic and clean, I would have liked more channels on the TV. Breakfast to our room was lovely. The swimming pool area was dated, the Jacuzzi looked murky but I saw a lady cleaning the shower area to high standard. The towels were seriously small in the pool area and threadbare. Check in and out was good. The bar staff were nice although they did not have a full complement of drinks for after dinner (amaretto). All in all I was happy with my stay a few niggles, however I would return and have recommended it to my parents. All it would take would be a few nips here and there to make it perfect.

The restaurant was terrible. 2.5 hours until we got our dinner. Had to complain a few times to get attention. Food was average. Disappointing meal.

We booked two rooms, a twin and a double, and both rooms were spotless. All 4 of us agreed that the the beds were extremely comfortable. The shower/bath were clean and instant hot water was a plus as some hotels you need to run the water for a few minutes first. We ate in the bar, and the food was of a very high quality. Small gripe was, our son's order was forgotten about, but quickly rectified once the error was noticed. We used the pool area twice, both times the staff were very helpful. Small criticism is you need to walk outdoors to get to the gym and pool area. Breakfast was lovely, good choice and quick service.
We have booked another night there, and would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.

You should note that dinner time with this deal is from 17.30 -18.45
The hotel allowed us to push that out to 19.30 as the second party was not due till 19.00
Food was delicious & the staff helpful
Don't forget a swim hat for the pool
Overall, great value for money

Stayed for a 3-night break December 2015. Really enjoyed the stay. Hotel warm and rooms clean and well kept. Staff friendly and attentive. Food very good both in quality and presentation. Would be happy to go back for a return visit. Minor grumbles- TV set in room small and with only limited channels; Earlybird food menu options given to us very limited and repetitive.

Stayed at this lovely hotel on the nights of 13th and 14th Dec. The spa is terrific and should not be missed! Staff are so friendly and dedicated to making guests feel right at home. Rooms are great - we had a fantastic, high-ceilinged room at the front of the hotel and there was a christmas tree right outside our window ! Room had everything we needed. We will definitely go back to repeat the experience!

Did not like this at all. Very poor.. Breakfast was very slow only few bits out then had to wait around for more to come out. Not great menu for dinner. No hot water in shower. When we told them. They didn't offer anything in return of us having to have cold showers for nights. Very disappointed in it.

Stayed the 20th Nov 2015 with my wife for one night. We found everyone working in the hotel to be friendly and helpful . The food was nice and good value for money. The rooms were clean and well maintained, we had one minor problem with the heating which was fixed quickly. I would recommend this hotel to a friends and family.
Enjoyed our stay.

Our room was lovely and spotless and the bed was very comfortable and the corridor was quiet even though there was a wedding in the function room. The facilities were fantastic , fabulous pool, steam room , sauna and jacuzzi. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was lovely. I would recommend this hotel with Lidl breaks as speaking with other guests, we definately got the better deal.

We loved our stay at Roganstown. It's clean and well run with beautiful surroundings. The food in the bar was excellent except for the Panacotta Desert which I returned. I wasn't charged for it though. Breakfast was good and the girl in both the bar where we ate at night and a girl in the dining room in the morning for breakfast were excellent. The Boogey Barber in the spa was really nice to talk to and very down to earth and interesting. We have stayed here before and would definately stay again. Bargain Breaks was a very reasonable price for such an excellent hotel. Thank You

Lovely hotel. Really friendly staff. Clean modern rooms with golf course view. Cater well for infants. Lovely pool area. Lovely food & restaurant service Only downside was a poor nights sleep as light sleeper and had extract fan in bathroom that was vibrating!! Just unlucky with room number I guess.. But lovely overall.

Overall, very very pleased with our stay at Roganstown house. Beautiful rural location and hotel itself was very charming and had a real country manor feel, in particular the dining room with the chandeliers, comfortable chairs and gorgeous log fire. We just didn't want to leave. The bedroom was however a little bland in terms of décor. The food both at dinner and breakfast was absolutely divine and exceeded our expectations. Service in the dining room was, however, a little bit casual but no major complaints there just little things, like having to figure out whether we would be seated or not for breakfast, as the waitress just took our coffee/tea order and disappeared to the kitchen, leaving us standing at the dining-room entrance, wondering whether she would return to seat us. Leisure centre was lovely - clean and tranquil. We will certainly return.

Overall we had a very nice time staying in Roganstown, we were there to celebrate my partners birthday. When we checked in our room was freezing, the heat had to be put on manually although it heatedup pretty quickly. We had a nice lunch and a few drinks and then some of us used the pool and jacuzzi in the afternoon, and then had a lovely meal later that evening. I wasn't expecting anything special from the included set menu but we were all nicely surprised by how good the food was, we then settled down and relaxed in the bar for the rest of the evening. The following morning everyone in our party had breakfast but I have to say the breakfast wasn't great. I chose the traditional Irish breakfast but the food was average, the sausages could have been cooked a bit longer and I would have been disappointed if we just chose B&B.
Overall our group had a lovely time and we would stay in Roganstown again.

very good value for money! But bring a fur coat!!!!!!!! It was 3 degrees outside when we got there, and our room was like an ice box. When I asked how to turn on the heat I was told the heat only came on at 4pm and went off again at 10pm it came back on in the morning but was off by 10am. All of the hotel was really cold, due to the fact that the air con was on. So if you dont mind going outside to the swimming pool, and coming back into a very cold Hotel, then this is the one for you. Food was very nice and the swimming pool was realy good. If the hotel was warmer I would give it 4 stars, but as it was not I would give it 3 stars

My partner and I stayed in The Roganstown Country Club Hotel recently for a nice romantic night away close to home.
The Hotel was set in lovely grounds and the weather made it perfect for a nice stroll. The hotel has a very old fashion theme throughout but it is done very well and has that warm homely feel. Rooms were nicely decorated and had everything you needed. We took advantage of the amenities including the pool and sauna area which was very relaxing especially because we where the only people there !!!!!!!! Swords town is 5mins away and been minus a child for the night the cinema was a nice addition and thank god we did break the day as the only bad point about the Hotel for some people is it is so so quiet. We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the bar that night and the staff where lovely and so helpful but god was the bar quiet and even though they had numerous televisions they were not put on even with the request of many of the men as the boxing fight was on that night, but to no avail most people left for their rooms very early as there was no atmosphere. Overall a lovely quiet relaxing break in a beautiful hotel just what we needed but to stay more then one night could be too boring.

We came to Roganstown to have a few days break and found the hotel superb. The room was of excellent standard with a most appealing open view over the golf course. We, a group of 8, spent just one night on Saturday last here. The hotel is beautiful, in a lovely tranquil setting and exceptionally quiet. Excellent Leisure centre and all but 2 of our group used same. Pity was we had to leave early next morning meaning we could not have another swim. Our stay was to celebrate a 'special' birthday and we had a great night, with an excellent meal in the beautiful restaurant. We will without a doubt return. All of our group commented on the high standard of the bedrooms.

Roganstown Golf and Country Club hotel is an Old World hotel. My initial impression when we drove to the enterence was orne of dismay, I hasd more than a few misgivings at the time, however when we stepped inside it was a completely different world, truely homely. The staff were all very helpful and our room was beautifully decorated inkeeping with the character of the hotel. and the beds were top quality, very comfy. Am aspect very important to me as I suffer from severe back trouble. We enjoyed a lovely mesl s erved in the Dining Room and had our coffee served in the relaxing lounge, For anyone needing to get to the airport they had a shuttle bus service. My only gripe is that it is a good distance from Dublin City so not suitable for those thinking of shopping or visiting the sights in Dublin. A must for those wanting a break to get away from stressts and strains of life, definitly a 4 star and a place I wouldn't hesitate to return to.

This was our second stay at Roganstown and yet again we were not disappointed... We just stayed one night mores the pity... Firstly before we arrived we received a phone call from Gillian a few days prior to arrival to confirm our dinner reservation. We were there to celebrate our friend’s birthday. They were staying in the hotel as well on our recommendation. The room and pool area were both lovely. The 4 of us enjoyed a lovely dinner in the restaurant... fantastic choice of dishes... We all decided to pay the extra for the desert and it was well worth it (Thumbs up for the chocolate fondant it was perfect) the staff put a candle in our friend’s desert and sang happy birthday to her) Really nice touch.... All in all we had another great stay the personal service in the hotel in second to none... Looking forward to our next visit which I have already booked for my birthday....

Overall, I would recommend Roganstown for a stay but there is room for improvement! The rooms in Roganstown were very nice - beds were very comfortable and they were spacious enough. The day we arrived down, there was a wedding on and it seemed to leave some of the staff a bit flustered! The bar area, where the wedding group were having their drinks reception, is also where you get lunch / bar food during the day. It took us quite a while to get served and for the tables to be cleared up. The food was very good - we ate lunch down there and again in the restaurant that evening, and it was very nice. I had a bit of a run in with a lady in the bar - we ordered soup and sandwiches, and because we didnt' say the word 'combo' (despite asking for it all to come together), they charged us individually for the soup and sandwiches instead of the combined price, which ended up in the bill being nearly %u20AC11 dearer. I argued it with her and she would not back down but eventually the bar man reissued the receipt for the lower amount. However, I was not impressed with her attitude at all - she was quite rude. We also had some spa treatments and they were also very nice. It's more of a salon than a spa (no relaxation room or robes!) but the treatments are very nice.
I think Lidl Breaks is fabulous value for money and have spread the word about the value!

Excellent value, rooms and food great. Only critism if I could call it that is the hotel gave us a set menu for the Lidl break which is understanable, but at no stage did the hotel say well the value of the Lidl meal is x amount but if you care to go al a carte we would deduct the amount from Lidl menu, its just an option more for the hotel to make more money from us. Maybe you could sugguest that to the hotels your dealing with it as its a win win situation for everyone.

Hi, I stayed in Roganstown Country Club on Aug 22 with 4 of my work collegues. It was my third time staying in Roganstown. I had originally made the booking for 4 but when I called Roganstown to see if it was possible to add another they were more than accommodating. The food was excellant, as usual and the room was fresh and clean. The welcome we got was great and the receptionist who checked us out was charming and had a great sense of humour. However, the service in the bar was slow and I would say less than professional for a 4 star hotel. The night porter was rude and abrupt. There was only one waitress on for breakfast the next day and she was very pleasant but tables were left uncleared, which did not give the dining room a 4 star look. When we checked out myself and my room mate paid the expected e59 but our friends who shared a room (there was 3 of them) only paid e50 each WHY?
All said it was good value and I would go back again but one of our party would not.

Although the hotel was very pleasent, I was disapointed with a couple of things. 1. the menu was restricted for those on a Lidl break. When I booked it, it started that we would be choosing off the full menu. When we arrived though, the menu we got had two starters and two main courses only and was labeled the "Lidl Menu". 2. The hotel offered Wi-Fi but it was not available when we tried to use it
I would like to comment specifically though on the hotel staff; they were exceptionally friendly and professional

I stayed in this hotel a few years ago and this time I found it had gone down a lot. Lidl menu only had 2 choices for each course whereas I think it does be advertised as having 3 choices per course. We were put sitting very closely to another couple who I assume were on a package deal too even though there were loads of empty tables and other spaces we could have been put as you were listening to each others conversations. We were relaxing in our room for a while when we first booked in, to have a member of staff just barge in to check if room was free, no knock but she did apologise but found this very bad form. Also, went to leisure centre, in ladies changing room there obviously had been someone there previously who had 2 toddlers as 2 sets of toddler swimming pants were lying wet on floor with used towels. I blame whoever had these children for there lack of consideration for others but should have been cleaned up by leisure staff. After my swim, noticed used towels had been taken but pants remained. Our room was so hot at night too but as we were at front of hotel over front entrance didn't want to open window due to noise. Also, had to ask receptionist for an itemised bill to check everything was rightly accounted for, seemed as if I wasn't getting this unless I asked for it. OK for price we paid but expected higher standard really.

This boutique hotel at Roganstown was a nice find. Neslted in the woodlands of North Co Dublin, I was taken with the Georgian setting and indeed the foyer was quite impressive - it was like stepping back in history. We were blessed as it was a glorious sunny day and so could dine al fresco on the pretty terrace. The staff were very friendly and I was well impressed with the food presented. It was too warm to even contemplate the sauna, pool and jacuzzi but it was nice to have that option.
All in all, it was an enjoyable stay - and only moments away from the airport, it's one to commit to memory before my next flight!

The hotel was lovely but a little hard to find. Our room had a wet room as a shower which we were not used to. We found the room very hot at night and we were kept awake by the sound of a boiler/cooler which was beside our room and the wedding which was below us. We thought there would be more grounds to walk in but most was taken up with the golf course. The food was nice and when I asked for more rice it was no problem. The staff were helpful and we enjoyed our swim.

Had an amazing stay in this hotel, the hotel was fabulous and the surrounding area's, however we were did find the hotel hard to find and was quite a distance from shops etc.

Really enjoyed our stay, used the gym and pool and relaxed in the bar. The bedroom was lovely, overlooking the golf course. Dinner was really nice and all the staff were very helpful and freindly. The grounds are fab too. Highly recommended!
