Had an enjoyable stay here. The location is outside the city so a bus or taxi is perhaps necessary if no car. The hotel was clean and tidy and the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Personally we enjoyed our stay here however we did notice some issues regarding complaints against someone who was staying there and fighting with another person in their room all night. That however is not the hotel`s fault but we heard that there can be similar issues from time to time. Only issue that we had was there was serious staining on the carpet in the bedroom but that didn't stop us enjoying our time there.
Hotel was good ,only issue was slight smell in the room when we entered and no toilet brush cleaner
Got back to hotel shortly after 11pm following concert and the bar was closed with no residents bar. Also there was a staff elevator next to our room and the door was opening by itself all night and making a beep.
Lovely hotel the food was fabulous and the staff couldn't do enough for us will definitely return ????
Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable. Good location minutes drive from everywhere. Great breakfast.
Just a wonderfully relaxing hotel I am planning my next break there if you want to relax and enjoy the food and the facilities you don’t find better at a very good and affordable price, all my dealings with staff were just so pleasant from the reception to the breakfast and restaurant staff Thank you so much and appreciated the quality of service and the price I highly recommend
Lovely hotel with great staff starting at reception with Catherina to all staff ; restaurant , bar, leisure centre, and accommodation staff all Very friendly, helpful and warm. We really enjoyed our stay and looking forward to going back again.
Room very cold on arrival. Had problems getting it on with reception. Breakfast cold.
Absolutely beautiful hotel the staff are a credit to you nothing was any trouble and anything to help and make you enjoy your stay the hotel is spotless and lovely atmosphere there will definitely be back
Lovely hotel Friendly staff Great food
A lovely hotel clean leisure centre with swimming pool steamroom and jacuzzi fabulous
Great hotel.lovely food and friendly staff
Great ewperience. Food and service was excellent
The staff were very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant. The food was very tasty and the service very efficient. The waiters were very friendly. Definitely worth the effort to stay ????.
….
Had a great experience in the Maldron. We really enjoyed the food in the restaurant and our waiter Noel made the experience even better he had great knowledge on Coeliac requirements! We would definitley stay again.
3rd time in the hotel, definitely the worst. Noise levels were very high. Smell of cannabis smoke in the corridor. Dodgy characters outside the hotel. Wouldn't bring my son back here. Plus swimming pool staff were argumentative about the times I had prebooked over the phone and confirmed at reception. Nice hotel but not for me.
Wonderful stay at this hotel. Even during Covid restrictions, we still enjoyed our break tremendously . Staff absolutely lovely. Friendly and attentive . Thanks so much. Will come again .
It was a savage hotel and would defo stay there again
Very enjoyable stay, staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Will definitely stay here again
Very nice hotel, lovely staff and lovely food. Would stay here again.
Last day of our 2week staycation, very disappointed. Checked in online for 2pm room not ready said come back at 3 room still not ready gave us a different room. Room 11 ,. It had no table no chairs , clothes tag in bathroom, lump of something on shower curtain, don't know what , 2 paper cups tea bags sugar , coffee, no milk ( there was 3 of us ) dirty big stain and hole in carpet, big spider and web in the window. Radiator was on full and we going to bed ,looked for the Valve to turn it off but it was broken off. Restaurant staff and food was lovely. First time I've ever had to write a bad review. We go away alot to many hotels.
The bedrooms were basic but nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The pool could use updating. The restaurant was nice but the food only ok. Also it seemed quite disorganised and we waited along time for our starter.
Rooms were basic. When meals are included in the deal you seem to get less on the plate. Should have been told at check in to reserve a table in lobby for drinks. Wasn't happy that we had booked a meal for 4 for the Saturday which we were told wasn't a problem until we arrived for our meal and was told it couldn't be done because the other guests hadn't checked in until that day. They did sort us out a table but shouldn't of been an issue and if it was it should of been said at the time of booking meal.
Rooms were lovely food was excellent staff were friendly location was brilliant for shoppers as store were within walking distance e hotel
Hotel was great but surroundet areas not great, didn't feel safe.
The hotel was top class and staff were very courteous helpful and pleasent, I would certainly go back again,
I was very disappointed there was no air conditioning in the room as it was 29 degrees. Also, breakfast service was slow, and our orders were incorrect. Staff were very nice.
Lovely hotel very clean, staff very friendly and helpful
Beautiful hotel. Staff courteous and helpful. Easy check in and check out. Meals and service excellent
Hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were friendly and accommodating and the restaurant was lovely
An excellent hotel. Courteous and friendly staff. Very good food. Great value for money. We highly recommend it.
Absolutely reccomended especially for families with kids...great food, amazing swimming pool and clean rooms ...kids happy Really nice and helpful staff... Wiill choose that hotel again .
Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Hotel was grand, kids enjoyed the pool. Food was nice and service was excellent. Only complaint is that rooms are extremely warm with no air con or fans plus some sort of alarm went off on our second night at half 3 in the morning
Service was very bad. Staff very rude and unprofessional, dirty linen and towels, they refuse to change them due to Covid 19 reasons. I wouldn't recommended this hotel to any of my friends.
i had a great 2 day stay here, staff were fantastic, food was brilliant, rooms very good.the pool and gym which i used were both very good.all in a very nice hotel ,would recommend it.and certainly will use it again.about 10 minutes from thomand park
While this Hotel isn’t set in the most scenic part of Limerick, it does offer a clean & comfortable stay. We received a friendly welcome at check in & a complimentary newspaper, which was a nice touch. The room was spacious, with a flat screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities, iron & hairdryer. The beds were wonderfully comfortable too. We made use of the leisure Centre facilities the next morning before a plentiful hot & cold buffet breakfast. All in all the Maldron Hotel offers very comfortable accommodation, close to the city Centre, with the added bonus of an onsite leisure centre. We were given room 245, which had a balcony & overlooked the gardens.
when we arrived at maldron hotel we noticed the window in our room was broken so we could not open it.contacted reception and a lady told us we could move to another room.at that stage we had unpacked.we decided to turn heat off and stay as there was a lot of luggage as we have a disabled child. The room was clean and beds very comfortable.there was no shower gel.we had to ask for it .The standard of food was poor.there was no music in bar all weekend. There is a halting site across road from hotel but there is a secure underground car park.we will not be returning.
Good value for money The hotel has seen better days probably but everything was to a good standard, particularly the breakfast, with plenty staff and choice
NIce hotel. Secure parking, which is good as it's not a great area of Limerick. Good food and lovely big room. There was a bit of noise outside our room from some machinery which meant we had to shut the windows at night. Otherwise very good. TV channels are a bit limited.
Hotel excellent, room, breakfast and everything was perfect.
The hotel was in the process of being painted during our stay so cosmetically the place is getting a revamp which is positive (pity it happened during out stay though) The bar has recently been revamped and looks spacious and airy, another plus, however the bar food is overpriced and really bland. No real sense of urgency in the bar either, I found the staff in general were really lackluster with a few exceptions. I'm not sure who the cook or restaurant manager was on Mon+Tues but both mornings the sausages in the hot counter were undercooked and I watched as each guest avoided them like the plague in the hour we spent there. Everything else got replenished. I must admit the error was corrected on Wednesday morning. We were happy with the beds and the room décor but the bathroom needs a revamp badly. So many broken tiles on the floor, its very dangerous. I found the plumbing in general to be rather strange, water pressure was too high at sinks and water leaking from the taps. I can excuse the tardy ensuite that needs a revamp but the new toilets at the bar and restaurant that have been revamped? Getting to the pool, we were directed to the family changing rooms as they do not permit fathers with daughters in the mens changing rooms. However the family changing room had had a bad stale smell and the shower gel looks like is never replenished. We enjoyed the pool, kids pool, and sauna. There seems to be a problem with the steam room door which I believe many members have complained about for a while now. This reverts back to the lack of urgency in general. I know I pointed out a lot of negatives about my stay but the hotel was clean, we got a really good deal from this website and we did enjoy our mini vacation. I just feel that with a few simple improvements this hotel can really shine.
Hotel excellent, staff excellent, directions on how to get to the hotel which is posted on the hotel website was fantastic, no problem finding the hotel from them.
The hotel was very run down. The windows on the dome frontage at reception were filthy and the net curtain which I think was to block the view of the halting site opposite was dirty and stained. We stayed in a family room with a musty smell and cigarette burns on the net curtain. also the window opened out way too far as we were on the second floor and either of my children could have easily fitted out the window. On a positive the staff were very nice and pleasant. Bar food was ok as was breakfast. Overall needs a big revamp. We have stayed in other Maldron hotels but would not stay here again
Very helpful staff. Large twin room with ample bathroom. Great selection for breakfast. All in all great stay.
Very poor quality hotel, in serious need of upgrading. room was very cold, rang reception and was told the radiators were on timers, mine only turned on when i rang and then very noisey. Our room was looking out onto a halting site, not much they can do about this, but it got a bit noisey at night, but died down before 11pm. Waited in the resteraunt for 15 minutes for staff member to come to us, eventually left and went elsewhere to eat. Swimming pool was lovely, lovely small kiddies pool. Breakfast was fantastic, couldn't fault it.
room was nice and warm. facilities good. Bar had a cafe feel to it but food was very nice. Lots of selection for breakfast.
Great Hotel great location bus service right out side the door, fantastic website bargain breaks, will definitely book another break with bargain breaks
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was a bit grubby and could do with painting.
Lovely relaxing hotel despite the view. Leisure complex was clean and well maintained, Food Good
Although our stay was very brief,we were very impressed by the rooms, staff and breakfast.Excellent value for money...we will be back
I would not stay here again. There was arguing in the room across the hall and it seem smoking and drinking. we were returning to our room after breakfast and there were 2 men waiting to get into another room one of them was blatantly intimidating. I complained at reception and received a half hearted apology.
Lovely hotel. Rooms very comfy. Staff very friendly. Food was lovely. Lobby freezing cold due to the open plan stairs to the upper floors and the front doors opening and closing constantly.
Hotel is easy to find and near shopping centres, town centre and easy to join motorway. Was very disappointed with view off halting site out window. And did not leave hotel in the evening for this reason. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel looked old or not kept. Had lunch in bar during the day and it looked dirty and not clean. But ate there in the evening in a separate area away from the bar and this was ok. Main restaurant is only open two nights out of summer months. This was very disappointing. Leisure centre was ok. Could do with some slides for the kids. Very dull and dreary as there is no natural light.
Top class hotel from start to finish.Friendly staff in all departments. We will return again without doubt. Thanks very much to everybody we dealt with. Kilkenny guests
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Maldron, the Staff were very friendly and super nice with the children especially. The Pool area is great for them to play in and the Food in the Bar was excellent....we would have no problem recommending it to our friends.
Good hotel as a stopover for site seeing in the Limerick/Clare area.. Hotel facilities good. Food good. Staff friendly, especially Sophie in the restaurant!
Staff very friendly. Hotel is in a horrible location with views of halting sites from the restaurant and rooms.
Sta Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights with my husband and 7 year old. Have to say that the staff are really lovely and friendly. The hotel is lovely, nice and clean. Would stay here again
We arrived early on Saturday and were told that we could not check in until 2pm. At 2pm I went back to the desk and was told that one room was ready and that the other room would be a delay of 2 hours. Completely unacceptable!!!!. I had 3 rooms booked. On Saturday night, it was dreadful. the children that stayed with us had to get up at 6.30am for a rowing regatta on Sunday morning. We got no sleep as there was a party going on in two of the bedrooms on the same floor. Reception was made aware of this and security had to go to the rooms on many occasions. the fire alarms went off and it was very frightening for all concerned. On all accounts the staff could not deal with the problem and it was seriously out of hand. At breakfast the next morning as two of the children missed it due to the raced, I decided to take 2 croissants for them and was ac ousted by a staff member even though breakfast has been paid for...... I certainly would not recommend this hotel.
Excellent breakfast. Very good and friendly staff. Excellent standard of quality. Very clean.
I requested a balcony when booking with lidl breaks and I also emailed the hotel requesting a balcony. I received no response to this email. When I was checking in I was not assigned a room with a balcony. I explained to the receptionist that I requested a balcony, she said that you do not receive requests made when booking with lidl breaks. Then when she was looking through my reservation it was clearly written down that I had requested a balcony. It took approximately 20 minutes for check in to be completed. After receiving my keys and going to the lift, the receptionist stopped the lift telling me there was another guest in the room that she had just assigned to me. So I had to go back to reception and wait again to be assigned a room. I came very close to disturbing another guest due to this error which would have caused serious embarrassment to me. I had my two year old child with me who goes to sleep at 7/7:30.I presumed that there would be nothing to obstruct him going to sleep. There was a lawnmower and leaf blower keeping him awake. This time of day of not acceptable for this type of loud noise to be happening, there was absolutely no consideration for guests with children. At 8pm I rang reception and explained the issue. I was rang back by an extremely rude man, who ended the call by hanging up on me. I explained the issue of the loud noise to him. I asked him why wasn't I informed that there would be such loud noise and I should have been offered a room at the front away from the noise. His response was that there would have been noise at the front also. However, the amount of green area at the front of the hotel is negligible when compared to the back where I was. Anyone with common sense can see that this would have resulted in far less disruption and distress for my child. This man then rudely ended the call by hanging up on me. Another receptionist promptly rang me back. When I said he rung up on me,she accused me of lying saying he did not hang up on me. I am appalled at the disrespect I received being accused of lying. Finally, the bedroom was far too warm to comfortably sleep,I had a terrible nights sleep as a result. Air conditioning should be provided. I am absolutely appalled and disgusted at the service I received.
Excellent family friendly hotel. Spacious rooms. Great leisure centre, very child friendly. Bar food absolutely excellent. Staff could not have been nicer. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to stay here again.
The Maldron Limerick has become old and tired since we last stayed there.Communal spaces are clean and bright but the room was shabby and the walls, chairs and carpet were not clean. The fabric chairs were particularly bad.We stayed on a bed and breakfast rate and the breakfast was fantastic. All self service, great choice and eat as much buffet style. They even provide disposable cups and lids for coffee/breakfast on the run.We used the pool which was small but very clean and pleasant. The location is opposite a residential camp but this does not affect the hotel or noise level.Ask for a room at the back of the hotel as main road at front very noisy .Not a hotel for luxury but well priced, functional and pleasant staff.
The 4 of us stayed 2 nights over the weekend, in a family room which was very clean and had plenty of space, all the beds where very comfortable and we all had a great 2 nights sleep. the breakfast was excellent both mornings with a wide choice for all of us. we had the use of the leisure centre both mornings which we and the kids both loved. we especially liked the late check out we had Sunday afternoon. If we were to visit Limerick again we would definitely stay in this hotel.
Very nice hotel, everything was clean and spotless, staff were very nice and friendly, food was gorgeous.
very nice hotel.staff were excellent.rooms were spotless.kids loved the pool.would stay again.
Hotel was ok the room was clean the bar food & restaurant food was nice. The Cooked breakfast was very poor it was dry & over cooked we ordered some fresh egg which were very nice. we were woken on the Friday night sat morning due to some residents having a fight.
We stayed here for a two night break over the bank holiday weekend with our two children and my parents. I cannot fault this hotel at all the staff were all so helpful especially the bar staff who made us feel so welcome and went out of their way to make our children feel comfortable. We will definitely be returning to this hotel when we are in limerick next. The facilities were great and the hotel was so clean.
stayed here for one night recently when booking we requested a room with balcony facing the garden . upon arrival we were given the opposite and the manager was very unhelpful and quiet rude who upset my partner. food is fair but we had a lovely polite waitress who did everything she could to help us. will not return again bad managerial staff.
Great stay in the maldron limerick , had a nice lunch at the bar staff very friendly and secure parking added bonus we would definitely stay again
This was a wonderful break, made all the better by the staff, who couldn't ha e done more for us! We had 5 small children in our group, the staff were particularly helpful around the children. From the reception desk to the lunch staff, dinner staff and swimming pool staff they were all extremely helpful. We will definitely stay here again.
We stayed here when attending a Munster match. We were very pleassed with the accomodation - we were upgraded to an 2 bedroom apartment which was fantastic. Telly in the each room with DVD players - great for the kids. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was great. Alos shuttle bus to Thomand park for 5 euro return for adults and kids just 2.50 euro return. Would definatley stay her again. Fantastic value
Stayed there with my wife for my 40th and I really enjoyed it. The food was gorgeous, the room was so comfortable and the pool was the nicest pool I have been in for a while. The staff were really friendly. Would definitely go back and would recommend. Declan & Sabrina.
This hotel was nice and clean. Breakfast in the morning was very nice with a large variety of food to choose from. Staff were friendly. The only thing is this hotel isnt in the city centre as such but its only a 2minute taxi journey into the city centre. I would definetly stay here again.
We are very happy with all aspects of our experience at this hotel, admittedly, a brief ,overnight, bed and breakfast for the family (two adults, two children). The staff were efficient, friendly and very helpful, the rooms clean, spacious and suitably-appointed. The breakfast buffet was well-stocked, varied, well-presented and tasty. We used the leisure facilities available, the swimming pool and the gym, both of which were very good. Booking through Lidl Breaks our stay was excellent value for money. We have no problem in recommending this hotel for a family break.
my husband and I stayed in the Maldron Hotel the staff were lovely and the hotel was great except for the noisy other guests who spent a lot of the night going from room to room and running up and down the corridors
lovely hotel staff were great and very helpful Pool and gym is excellent rooms very good food is very good highly recommend hotel for relaxing weekend
Hotel was excellent however same deal was available cheaper direct from the hotel so buyer beware!!!
To whom it may concern; Recently I stayed at the Maldron Hotel in Limerick with my husband and 2 children. I decided that I really had to write to tell other people intending to stay that it was one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed at in Ireland - The hotel room was actually a suite with more than enough room for us all and not something we were expecting. The staff were very friendly, helpful and more importantly relaxed which helped us relax !! The hotel is also child friendly which was another added bonus. There was live music on one night and the swimming pool was fabulous. Overall I would recommend the Maldron Hotel for anyone wanting a relaxing break. Yours sincerely Chloe P Murphy
We arrived at the Maldron on a very busy rugby weekend and were surprised at how quickly and efficiently the reception staff booked us in - even ensuring we got rooms next to each other. The hotel was lovely with entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday night. The buffet food was lovely and they certainly piled it on your plate!!! Breakfast was well organised and had a good selection to cater for everyone. Overall I would definitely stay in this hotel again with the reception staff being so friendly and helpful for anything we requested - nothing was too much trouble. A special mention to the lovely Eileen who really went the extra mile.
Very nice hotel especially the friendly staff. Room was lovely overlooking garden with balcony. Dinner in bar was very good as was music.Would stay here again.
really enjoyed our stay staff very friendly an helpfull requested quiet area in hotel disappointed put on ground floor near reception an smoking area very noisy on sat night overall nice place.
