Lovely quiet hotel. Staff were lovely. Bar was a bit busy.

Peggy scored 5 / 5 on 20/11/2024

We enjoyed this hotel - room, food was lovely and the simming pool was really nice. Lovely staff too. Will return in the New Year P.G.

Toni scored 5 / 5 on 19/11/2024

Family friendly hotel, located near Liffey Valley shopping centre. Rooms cozy, breakfast was really tasty, and something for everyone. Kids enjoyed the pool activities, would stay again. Very easy to check-in and out online! No delay

Sarah scored 4 / 5 on 13/11/2024

Nice and clean, loved the pool and delighted that the jacuzzi was lovely and warm! Fab breakfast, would recommend.

Paula scored 3 / 5 on 11/11/2024

I had a lovely stay in the Clayton, have stayed here before and kids love it. We had a great size room so the kids were in their room and the parents had their space in their room. will definitely be back in the new year.

Audrey scored 3 / 5 on 03/11/2024

Perfect description of room and very suitable for family of 2 adults and 3 children. We had facilities and two rooms which was the perfect solution for our break away

Evelyn scored 3 / 5 on 01/10/2024

Very noisy, a lot of work going on Beds were very comfortable bit the room was dusty and bathroom had fixtures hanging off.room services was very expensive for the service we recieved. Not impressed.

Helen scored 3 / 5 on 29/09/2024

It’s a nice hotel, clean, comfortable beds, a good variety of breakfast foods, Tina on reception was particularly friendly & helpful, and close to Shopping Centre. We didn’t sleep much after 6.30am as we could hear people talking, and heard the showers running in other rooms nearby, heard doors closing & furniture being moved around - they need to put pads on the chair legs to dull the noise. We had been at Mamma Mia show in 3Arena, and Port Tunnel was closed so we had to drive the long way back and didn’t arrive at hotel until 11:50pm. There was a sign saying lift wasn’t in operation after 11pm and to use the stairs, which we thought were inside, but they were external stairs at the side of hotel. It had been raining, so we had to be careful on the steps - there was a handrail - but I was glad that I wasn’t on my own from a security point of view. We were looking forward to having a drink or two in the hotel bar, but it was closed! Apparently it closes at 11.30pm on week days. Unbelievable! The porter at the door looked more like a security guard & there were two burly gentlemen behind reception desk so that made me feel a bit nervous. Were they expecting trouble?? I had stayed at this hotel a few years ago and loved it, but I don’t think it’s as good now as it was years ago but, having said all that, I would stay here again but just not on my own.

Eddie scored 2 / 5 on 27/09/2024

Probably the worst shower I have ever encountered. Impossible to regulate the rermerature

Daren scored 3 / 5 on 25/09/2024

Hotel was nice, breakfast good also. We were 30 minutes late checking in as the room wasn't ready, but it was clearly very busy there. Pool was nice, but strangely dark in the pool area, which was odd. All in all a nice stay.

Evelyn scored 4 / 5 on 17/09/2024

Hotel is lovely, very clean and lovely staff. However there were small toddlers running around the bar screaming until 11pm

Claire scored 4 / 5 on 14/09/2024

Lovely hotel. A few tweaks and it could be amazing. Breakfast a bit cold. No tea pots. Rooms needs a paint/refresh. Good value for money. Great location close to cinema, food outlets, shopping center. Definitely would stay again. Great staff

Ridhwaan scored 3 / 5 on 10/09/2024

Excellent service Unfortunately only found out that booking for 2 adults and 1 child only gave breakfast for 2 adults at this hotel. They did not include breakfast for the child. Had to pay separately

Sabrina scored 4 / 5 on 09/09/2024

Would definitely recommend

Tania scored 5 / 5 on 21/08/2024

The hotel was lovely. Staff very rude. Pool was great.

Kathleen scored 4 / 5 on 19/08/2024

We had a good overnight stay in the Clayton. I did the online check-in but it didn't send me a code to use with the machine to collect the keys but I just had a short wait ar reception to collect our keys. I had booked a triple room and got a lovely clean, spacious room with a double and 2 single beds. There was a small fridge, which I love in a room. Complimentary water and biscuits too! The room was a bit too warm at night. A fan was provided but it was weak. Good shower & towels and all very clean. Breakfast next morning was good. All buffet, plenty of everything. I would stay again.

Ollie scored 4 / 5 on 12/08/2024

Excellent

Margo scored 3 / 5 on 11/08/2024

Nice hotel, reasonably priced and great facilities for families/kids. Used the pool and walked over to Liffey valley shopping centre/ cinema. Good base to travel from for Emerald park, zoo etc. only negative was walls are thin, and was a little noisy at night. Did quieten down though

Jane scored 3 / 5 on 09/08/2024

Karen scored 4 / 5 on 21/07/2024

Fab hotel for families great place for kids..so close to all amenities and very near Dublins attractions

Mary scored 3 / 5 on 25/06/2024

Check in was terribly slow. The lady gave 15 minutes clicking and faffing on her computer but we were getting no where. Room was lovely but second bed wasn't made up for kids. We had a check out of 3am for our flight and needed to get kids to bed. Had to wait for accommodation to come but he only brought sheets, had to go back for pillows and duvet. Thankfully we were only there from 8pm to 3am as it was a terrible terrible service

Patricia scored 5 / 5 on 23/06/2024

Attracta scored 4 / 5 on 09/06/2024

We booked a triple room, but they gave us a quadruple room. I didn't like this as it meant that we didn't have a table and chair(s). Beds were comfortable and they have a good selection for breakfast.

Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good. We enjoyed the pool. Hotel could do with some refurbishment paint and bathroom had mould

Siobhan scored 3 / 5 on 02/04/2024

This was a nice hotel,10 minute walk to Liffey Valley shopping centre but not much else if your relying on public transport, bus takes a half hour to city centre and no luas goes here, not ideal for visiting City .but staff were nice and hotel lively even though the bar wasn't big, lovely big breakfast and easy online check in/check out service

Jill scored 3 / 5 on 01/04/2024

Room was good. Breakfast was very poor. By 9am no white bread, apple juice, hot water or coffee. Hot water and coffee eventually replaced but others not available. Overall a hotel badly in need of updating.

Carina scored 3 / 5 on 31/03/2024

We booked a family deluxe room and end up with a suite with a double bed a sofa bed and a camp bed . nothing deluxe about the beds

Eleftheria scored 3 / 5 on 26/03/2024

The hotel location is excellent, close to the mall and bus stations It's clean , cozy but not so quite when it's busy on the corridors .... especially in the family rooms Also needs more organization in the restaurant when it's busy Although we booked our dinner table were in time , we waited 10 min to be sorted and then they realised that someone else had our table . Also we waited long to order ,etc. Out parking on site was included in the price for the whole stay Breakfast was sufficient Thank you very much for everything

Joanne scored 4 / 5 on 18/03/2024

Great family hotel.

Lara scored 5 / 5 on 30/01/2024

We had an excellent stsy at the clayton hotel. The only thing i would like to have been different would be the check in time as this is very late.

Joan scored 4 / 5 on 21/01/2024

Great location. Easy to check in/out. Reception staff were lovely. Great breakfast. Only problems were the lighting in the room was very poor and there were no batteries in the tv remote control (went down to Reception and got that sorted). Would have liked different coffee in the room but thats just a personal preference, I'm sure some people like the one that is there. Would recommend tje hotel to others.

Michelle scored 4 / 5 on 31/12/2023

Enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly. On arrival our room was freezing cold, within 20 mins the duty manager arrived checked the rads and brought a heater to the room. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. There was a queue for breakfast the next morning but when we were seated, there was plenty of food and agai staff were very helpful. Very enjoyable stay. Handy parking at the hotel. Easy online check in and out process.

Niamh scored 5 / 5 on 14/12/2023

Friendly staff & clean room

Debbie scored 3 / 5 on 24/10/2023

Brilliant location next to liffey valley shopping mall. Room was ok. Clean but very basic... not even a chair in the room. Breakfast was OK... bacon was hard and scrambled eggs were weird. Daughter loved the pool. Only toiletries were shower gel and hand soap so bring your own if needed.

Marlene scored 5 / 5 on 04/05/2023

Nice pool, very spacious room, great breakfast.

Sandra scored 5 / 5 on 18/04/2023

Stayed in this hotel a few times but on this occasion we were put Into a fab family room With a kitchenette and seperate Living area, it also had a lovely balcony. So much space it was fab. If I was guaranteed this room again I'd definately book for extra nights. Pool and food were also great.

Mary scored 4 / 5 on 23/03/2023

Very pleasant one night stay. Staff very helpful. Evening dinner menu very limited for coeliacs. We were told a 2 course evening menu was available for €25.95 but staff in dining room said it had to be part of a package.

Michael scored 3 / 5 on 13/02/2023

nice hotel close to shops, nice room got upgrade by hotel which was great

Josh scored 5 / 5 on 30/01/2023

Ah yes the hotel was fab but the food was shocking. Would not recomend the food. The kids meals were bigger then the adults meals.

Natalie scored 3 / 5 on 17/01/2023

The staff here are amazing and so efficient. The dinner and breakfast were good the hotel itself is in need of a bit of painting and bathrooms in rooms need updating. The leisure centre dressing rooms weren’t very clean on both occasions we were there.

The hotel was great, staff helpful and friendly. Pool was ideal for the kids. Fantastic location fpr tayto park and flynn park

Anne-marie scored 5 / 5 on 12/08/2022

Fantastic hotel, had a family room with 3 beds so kids each had a bed instead of sharing with me. Pool was great as was breakfast. We had a lovely stay & would definitely use the Clayton liffey valley again. Highly recommended.

Helen scored 2 / 5 on 11/08/2022

We arrived at hotel at approx 8 pm with 2 kids. One of the kids beds not dressed or had no bed linen. We rang 4 times over 90 mins and nobody turned up. We had to go down to reception to get it sorted. Eventually after 10 pm the bed was made. There was no soap or shower gel in bathroom. Nothing, tv in the bedroom didn’t work. Water in the kitchenette didn’t work which wasn’t the biggest issue but gave the impression nobody checking room properly. Pool was good and breakfast was good otherwise it would have got a 1 star. Would not be rushing back.

Mary scored 3 / 5 on 09/08/2022

Great value for money... friendly and efficient service...rooms clean. Kids had fun at the pool. Overall a lovely couple of days.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly food and cocktails were very nice. Room was clean and beds were comfortable only negative the remote was not in the room and the fan did not work properly

Diarmuid scored 4 / 5 on 19/07/2022

Only disappointment was the pool closed at 7 and the bar closed at 12, other than that everything else was grand

Honor scored 3 / 5 on 19/07/2022

Excellent value for a one night stay for a family room!

Nicole scored 3 / 5 on 19/07/2022

The hotel room was dirty with broken plug sockets I had my 3 year old with me so it was unsafe we were then moved to the apartments which was even worse it was absolutely filthy we then had to leave while cleaners came in and cleaned the room my 3 year old did not get to relax till after 10 pm it was the worse hotel experience ever

Great family hotel so close to zoo and Tayto Park. Food was fab at dinner and breakfast times. Pool was great kids enjoyed themselves and all so clean. The staff were so friendly especially the cleaning staff we would meet in the corridor always had a big hello and smile for the kids. Would highly recommend hotel and will be back again soon.

Claire scored 3 / 5 on 30/07/2021

Hotel staff were lovely, very friendly. Online check in is supposed to be a speedy process which allows key collection but this doesn’t seem to be the case as each day people were in a queue to check in. We had a deluxe family room, very small for 2 adults and 2 children one a very busy toddler. Quiet noisy on our floor, very hard to sleep. You need to book room cleaning in advance they don’t just come and clean when your out, has to be requested beforehand. Location excellent, food lovely. Staff we dealt with very nice, family rooms need to have more room to move.

Mary scored 3 / 5 on 29/07/2021

No air con absolutely roasting especially when there was a heatwave. Could not sleep over this!. A few altercations with other guests staying in the hotel couldn't use the facilities as there was a waiting list or a seat in the bar even though we were residents here.

Margaret scored 4 / 5 on 24/07/2021

Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. Pool wasn't great, u get a small square for your family so no room for the kids to swim. Too many in the pool together I felt. Dinner was lovely.

Dan scored 3 / 5 on 21/07/2021

Room was small and roasting hot, had a terrible nights sleep. Swimming pool was a free for all with some people not even wearing swim hats. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. Not a 4 star hotel imo

Tracey scored 3 / 5 on 20/07/2021

We stayed for 2 nights, I was a bit disappointed with our room, it was quite small for 4 people, and we felt cramped. When we used the shower, the water leaked out on to the floor in a big puddle. There was stains on the bedroom lamp. However the beds were clean and comfortable. The carpark area was very noisy at night. The playground wasn't open so there was no outdoor space for kids to play. The Gusto restaurant was also bad value for money I felt, as you had to have 2 courses at a set price. The pizzas were very nice, but I didn't think the rest of the food was good. Breakfast also was not great,. Definitely wouldn't go back for the food! On the plus side, I found most of the staff friendly and helpful, apart from when we arrived, we were told we couldn't check in until 4pm, and the guy didn't even take our names or check to see if our room might be ready early. The pool was also fine, and the kids loved that. There was very limited seating if you wanted to have a drink at the bar which would have been fine if we had a seating area in our room. Overall it was fine for a short stay, but wouldn't rush back, and wouldn't have meals there.

Angela scored 3 / 5 on 18/07/2021

Great hotel for families.. helpful, friendly efficient.. went with a larger group and hotel accommodated all with no fuss.. would highly recommend

great hotel spotless clean, great staff, food excellent, great breakfast.

Emma scored 4 / 5 on 15/08/2020

My second stay at the hotel and was not disappointed. The staff could not do enough for you and it is fantastic for young families. The breakfast was exceptional even during the current pandemic. The staff made you feel welcome at all times even during toddler tantrums. Couldn’t recommend enough and looking forward to returning!

Ruth scored 4 / 5 on 13/08/2020

Lovely hotel and great location. Reception staff extremely helpful. Rooms clean and breakfast was tasty. Would reccomend for a short stay in Dublin that's not too central.

Darren scored 3 / 5 on 08/08/2020

Unfortunately the dinner wasn't up to the standard of the rest of the hotel experience

Rebecca scored 5 / 5 on 06/08/2020

We had a fantastic time for our sons birthday.

Bernie scored 4 / 5 on 06/07/2020

Nice hotel felt safe with hand sanitiser everywhere

Laura scored 3 / 5 on 03/07/2020

THere was a mix up with our booking, I booked one night and when I tried to check in it showed 2 nights, I eventually got it sorted. The hotel was nice, clean, the staff were very friendly and the food was good however at night there was no air con and the room was uncomfortably warm, we couldn't sleep and when we did it was very restless, in the end we were glad we just booked for the one night.

George scored 1 / 5 on 21/12/2016

Both family cars were damaged in the hotel carpark which we had to pay £6 per night. The hotel done absolutely nothing to help which spoiled an enjoyable Santa express visit in Dublin.

Ema scored 4 / 5 on 16/12/2016

Nice hotel ,spacious rooms .The only negative experiece we had it was a staff in Kudos restaurant ,They ignored us for very long time ,and when I ask If someone can take our order ,that child is nearly falling asleep still nothing happend for long time ,no smile ,or agnowledgement that we are actually there ,we left after 40 min .in those 40 min we did not get even dring order.

Keith scored 3 / 5 on 13/11/2016

At a business presentation for 2 days. Food was fab. Pool needed cleaning. Staff were excellent. Great location, handy rather than having to go into the city.

Suelyn scored 3 / 5 on 08/06/2016

The hotel is beautiful and clean. However, the rooms are not soundproof, at 7am you could hear a full conversation in the next room, could hear the doors open and close. it was a nightmare as l was looking forward to sleeping in till 9am.

Sadiesligo scored 5 / 5 on 28/05/2016

Unbelievable hotel. Had unknowingly booked into a twin room and was upgraded for free to one of the suites. Was late down for breakfast and still allowed in for it. No complaints about this hotel. Would recommend to anyone staying in the Dublin area.

Teeny scored 2 / 5 on 20/05/2016

Hotel great value great location rooms way to hot with no air conditioning lady that checked us in was very rude and not helpful at all eg breakfast times and location of restaraunt and access to swimming pool Information in rooms very basic

Annmarie scored 4 / 5 on 16/05/2016

Great hotel, always stay there when in Dublin. They are super to upgrade if the hotel is not too busy...which they did for my last stay, we got upgraded to a fab suite...food always nice & staff are very helpful. Annmarie

Catherine scored 4 / 5 on 15/05/2016

We were very pleased with all aspects of the hotel and will definately return.

E scored 3 / 5 on 05/05/2016

Hotel was very busy during our stay. Tables in bar area were dirty. Not much seating in bar area to cater for everybody. They opened up the area later in the evening so that gave more room for dining. There were long queues for breakfast. Staff were pleasant and helpful considering the pressure they were under. Room was clean and suitable for our needs

Don scored 3 / 5 on 04/05/2016

Nice hotel and excellent value. Breakfast queue out the door if you don't get there before 9am on weekends. Main issue was late night noise (1am) in the corridor from other guests on the Bank Holiday weekend. I suggested to the receptionist that they put up some 'Quiet Please from 11pm - 8am' signs similar to other hotels. Will be back to check if they actually do it!

it was to my greatest surprise and delight to be given an apartment at the clarion hotel liffey valley last week as i had only booked a room. It was perfect in every way. Very spacious and spotless clean. I only wished i could have stayed longer. We had a meal in the GUSTO restaurant and i must say the food was amazing. I MOST certainly will be back again.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We had a very spacious double room with a sofa. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were spotlessy clean. Dinner in Gusto was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful as were the bar staff. The self service buffet breakfast was also lovely. Would definitely stay here again. Great value.

Great value deal, booked B+B but should have booked DB+B as ended up having dinner in hotel. Excellent stay overall. Some confusion at checkin as reception could not find booking, had to forward lidl breaks email. Only downside was leisure center closed very early 7.30pm on the sunday night.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Despite the room being located near the lift and enterance to the bedrooms, it was very quiet. The resturant had a variable supply of food for breakfast and the self service was efficient. However attention to the following would enhance the experience;use of tongs for handling bread there on day one but not on day two,tea and coffee flasks need replenishment without request, cereal bowls need to be topped up without the need to request same. The staff were very friendly co operative and no request was too much trouble.Car parking was a great facility,it is so very secure. I would stay in the Clarion again and would have no problem in recommending it as a good value hotel.

Hmmmm, where to Start...... Ok the hotel it's self was ok. It was our wedding day and we could not afford to have the traditional wedding so we had our party in a social club. We arrived all dressed in our wedding attire to check in....... My wife in her long white dress and me in my suit. We had booked a room for my wife's friend also at the same time, so we checked both rooms in. We were given a room in the basement which was quite small. There were two other rooms taken by our guests. When we got to our party. They told us the they were all given free upgrades to Apartments or a large room with a separate dining areas. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed in the fact that us "The Bride & Groom" were put in a basement room that was so small you couldn't pass if the chair was pulled out from the desk. While our guests got the upgrades. Otherwise the hotel was fine. Regards Mr & Mrs Church

We loved our stay at the Clarion Hotel. we found the staff very friendly at all times and very helpful. We also liked that you have available Wheat free & gluten free foods both at breakfast and in the dining room - a BIG Bonus for us. When going to Dublin this is our favorite hotel to stay in. We noticed that the car-park charge has got more expensive recently- €5 per night which is a bit expensive when you can have car parking included in other hotels. However we did enjoy our stay with you. Thank you so much, Catherine

Enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Staff were very friendly and the food was lovely. Two issues I would like to point out. Firstly the bedroom was very hot and stuffy, even though we had the window open all night. Secondly, I was dissappointed that there was a €5 overnight parking charge even though we were staying in the hotel.

Staff very friendly and food great! Big portions, fresh and beautiful. Bedroom nice and clean. Bathroom door didn't close. The only thing I would day negative is the lack of entertainment. Very quiet and small bar as full room wasn't always open. Breakfast should have a wider range eg mushrooms in fry. More pastries and jams and more hot drink variety. Because we didn't book/pay with a debit card, they told us they needed 50euro deposit extra which was a major inconvenience! As well as returning the deposit which took them ages! The extra deposit left us a bit stuck for money the weekend. Should be better directions and staff directing to where u need to go I.e. The gym. Never found the gym! The pool was nice and sort of heated. Steam room small. Sauna good. Overall staff were brilliant but lack of entertainment and its so quiet and dead. 50euro deposit left us with little money for the weekend. If there was a little live music, we would return.

Nice hotel. Bit far from Dublin City centre tho. As myself and partner used it as a base for exploring Dublin. Cost 30 euros in taxi to centre. Or 6.10 euro on bus but takes an hour as it's round all the wee villages would return as staff were friendly but the sachets of coffee in rooms weren't very good.

we had a very nice stay in this hotel as we were having a family reunion .The Hotel room was clean but could do with a few repairs to the walls as the plaster needs to be repaired. The staff were friendly but were clearly overworked on the night ,it was a Bank Holiday weekend and there were a lot of families with children running around .The restaurant was fine for breakfast but dinner was a little disappointing.I ordered garlic bread as a starter but i received a tough piece of crisp bread topped like a bruschetta, not nice at all i then ordered a pasta dish with sausage ,i actually would have preferred the pasta on its own as the sausage was much too big and chunky a good few of our party did not finish our meals .Overall we enjoyed our night out with our family but next time i might not pick a busy Bank-Holiday weekend when staff are rushed off their feet.

I found the hotel excellent and use it often if I am in Dublin for meetings or for pleasure. Coming from the West it is very handy - rather than going in to town to find hotel accommodation. Rates very affordable given the rates charged by Hotels in the centre of Dublin. My family also like staying here - good rates, good facilities, helpful staff, good food. My only issue with the Clarion @ Liffey Valley is the fact that you have to pay for car parking €4 even though you are staying in the Hotel. Katie.

Diane scored 3 / 5 on 08/09/2014

Nice hotel, good standard of cleanliness in the rooms and most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Find the parking fee a bit much when you are staying in the hotel. Dinner was lovely and very good for our toddler. Only 2 complaints we would have, the room was way too warm, with a fan in the corner, no option of sheets on the bed. It wasnt a warm time of year so shouldnt have been that bad. The other would be the shower, it went from hot to cold and vice versa and absolutely no power in it. Good location as we were only 15 mins from the zoo avoiding the m50.

Glr scored 3 / 5 on 22/08/2014

Overall its a good spot for young families. Good facilities with swimming pool and outdoor and indoor play area's. Room was a bit on the small side, but there was a decent sized fridge. Food was good. Evening meal very tasty, but menu limited for coeliac's. Some other small gripes: Lighting very poor in Kudos bar for breakfast buffet. Paying for parking each time you exit the car park is somewhat unfair to paying guests. One standard charge for parking on departure, if at all.

Ann scored 4 / 5 on 14/08/2014

Very family friendly hotel, great facilities for young children including indoor play area, outdoor playground and huge swimming pool (including a separate kids pool). The family room was lovely and it had a fridge which was very handy. There was also a safe for valuables. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though they were busy. The food was lovely but the childrens menu was a bit limited. The only other gripe was that the underground parking spaces were tight, and there was a charge for parking even when you were staying the hotel. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and it was good value for money.

Delighted with our stay. We stayed just one night as we were on our way to Tayto Park. We were a big group and the hotel was so family friendly - all on the same floor and plenty of sleeping accommodation for all. The swimming pool was excellent as the evening was bad when we arrived and the children went in straight away and had a ball. We are making plans to return next year and are highly praising the staff and the convenience of your hotel to all our friends. We will be sure to return again but for a longer stay next time Ann

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in the Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley, we were attending a wedding function in the hotel on the night of our stay and it was very enjoyable, excellent food, friendly barstaff and a well laid out function room. The hotel was very busy with a lot of families and young children, I believe the children's club is very good with a good range of activities for children. The leisure centre and pool is lovely, again, it was very busy, pick your time for a swim carefully and ask the staff when the best time to visit the pool etc is. The room was of good standard and clean with plenty of towels and extra pillows, it was warm and we requested a fan which was immediately delivered to the room, it was a little noisy with children playing in the corridor but this didn't bother us as it was nice to hear children having fun. The breakfast was excellent... again it was extremely busy and we did have to queue for a few minutes but we were seated extremely quickly considering the amount of people dining, it was a self service buffet, there was a good selection of breakfast items and it was kept well stocked. We enjoyed it so much we stayed for a 2nd night. The Clarion Hotel is just off the M50 so easy to find and we will stay again, I have deducted one star as I don't believe guests, especially those attending a function in the hotel should have to pay for parking.

stayed recently in the hotel found it very nice room was lovely but very hot even with fan and window open. When we went to book in near 6 o'clock our room wasn't ready so had to wait for about 15 minutes to get another room receptionist asked would we like to get something to eat while waiting but as we were meeting friends in town after 7 left us rushing. Also having to pay for the carpark at 4euro a night or if you over 3 hours parked there a bit much if you a guest in hotel. Staff was lovely and hotel was nice would stay again.

Edenlass scored 4 / 5 on 03/07/2014

stayed for a one night b&b plus dinner package. paying €5 per child for breakfast and whatever they eat you pay for at dinner. Kids dinner was €5.95 and deserts €3.95 which was very reasonable for dublin and food was lovely and great portion wise for kids There was an extremely friendly girl called Shauna serving us on the night. We were very pleased with the dinner we got but only downfall was it comes served with a very small quantity of pototatoe with no veg and all sides are €3.95 so if you were extremely hungry could get expensive. The hotel itself is lovely and clean and staff were very friendly. Nice play area inside for younger and older kids and the kids loved the outdoor playground which is extremely safe. Entrance only with room card. Breakfast was fit for a king. The only one downfall of the hotel is no air conditioning. The room we were in was extremely hot and as the kids bed was under the window it left it hard to leave window open at night. There was a fan which did help but again wouldn't like to have blowing the whole night. On a whole would definitely stay if returning to Dublin and would highly recommend for families looking for somewhere to stay.

This hotel is the worst hotel I'v ever stayed in as a frequent Lidl break user, firstly when we arrive they couldn't find our booking asked if I was sure i booked under my own name, not sure but think they took the details from the lidl page I had printed out and booked us in then. Had to ask where to go as we were not directed to our room. on approaching the room the landing was full of plates empty wine bottles and glasses from different rooms left outside to be taken away this is normal but on going to bed at 1.30am they were still there. The room was booked for twin beds which were very comfortable but the room was for a disabled person with no bath now that might suit some but I had taken a friend away for the night for her 40th birthday she has recently lost her disabled husband shock for her I did feel very upset, if I wanted a room for a person with a disability I would have reqested one. The staff were not very friendly I held the door for one and he didn't even bother to say thanks never mind hello. However the lad who served us dinner in the bar was very nice, polite and very helpful just what you expect from a stay in a hotel. Had to sleep with a standalone fan on all night as the window had to be closed as an alarm was going off outside. Up side food was good. This hotel should send their staff to the Carrickdale Hotel Co louth to learn how to make their clients feel important do their jobs properly after all it only takes a little bit of courtesy this a simple task.

Hotel close to M50 and that's a plus. Liked hotel itself but rooms themselfs, for some reason, too hot!? Kept windows opened all the time, checked radiators - stoned cold but still room was a bit too hot, and wheather outside was pretty chilly. Assume, hotel spent a lot on insulation. Secondly, advertised as pros Liffey Valley S.C. nearby has no grocery store in it for some reason! For our family of five with little children a pack of 1L milk carton in the fridge and few small items just to keep kids happy it came as unpleasant surprise. And I wasn't ready to pay over the moon in local newsagent if you consider prices in Dublin. Thirdly, I included dinner on my booking - IT WAS MISTAKE! Aparently, the bar (yes, bar, not restaurant) had two menu system in place: one ordinary menu and second for pre-booked dinners. Be aware - it never mentioned anywhere and a young lad at reception forgot to mention it as well I believe. So had to enjoy asian cousine (the only choice) at the bar on one of the nights. It wasn't bad but portions rather small and I really expected something different. And when a wife approched waiter to place our order on booking bill she was told that there was steak, sea bass, chips, chowder, e.g. for our booked dinner I felt totally mad and totally dissapointed! Does hotel staff really thiks I am some sort of James Bond to know everything and have the best in knowledge how this hotel in question is being run? Fourth, my eldest daughter badly wanted to attend swimming pool which we were told closes at seven even tough it displayed 9.30 at front door. So made shorter trip around Dublin then planned, also reduce time for Dublin Zoo (kids were happy) just to make it to swimming pool by 6 pm. Guess what, toddlers pool was closing at 7 pm, the main pool was opened up until closing time and my eldest daughter isn't a toddler! Thanks. Overall hotel isn't bad but has a lot of room for improvements, especially, in terms of communication. As a final touch I won't consider this hotel again and wouldn't recommend it either.

The hotel is lovely and easy find when coming from Cork. We had planned to stay the night and get a taxi to the Olympia to see Peppa Pig. This worked out great, the girl at reception booked our taxi which was waiting for us the next morning. There was a lovely buzz in the hotel, the room was clean the only thing I found was the restaurant staff and manager were not great. I had booked the table for 8.30pm and as we had arrive late and I wanted a shower I tried to change the time to 9pm, the young man said that he couldn't change it for me and I wasted 10 minutes waiting for the manger Adam who never arrived. Eventually I told the young man that I was wasting time waiting and could he not just change the time for me. When we did arrive at 8.45pm and spoke to the manager Adam he seemed flustered and unsure as to whether there was a table ready for us or even there for us, bearing in mind that the table had been booked through your website since January!!!! and I only changed it 20 minutes before. The girl then took the 3 of us to a table for 6 in the middle of the restaurant!!! I had to ask to be seated at a smaller table away from the centre of the restaurant!! All in all the experience was great but I do think the service (not the young man or woman's fault) and management of the restaurant needs to be sorted and left the hotel down greatly.

Myself my husband and 2 kids have stayed in the hotel on many occasions and have always had a great time. Staff, restaurant swimming pool are all excellent. This time we ordered room service for the 1st time - it was only a toasted ham and cheese sandwich for one of the kids and it was not good the bread was barely toasted and to be honest it was overpriced for what it was. That is the only time we have had ever had an issue but wouldn't stop me from staying in the hotel again. Thanks Sandra

excellent value for money. Well located near M50. Perfect for families. Staff are extremely accommodating. We recently stayed and were travelling with a young family. Unfortunately the children became sick shortly after arriving and the staff were extremely helpful with changing bedding, ample supply of extra towels and unblocking a sink ay 7a.m.!!!!!The night manager in particular was extremely courteous and helpful. He went above and aboard. Have stayed in many hotels throughout Ireland and one recommend the Clarion as one of the best.

I would like to say my visit to your hotel was not a good one, first when when arriving there was a very bad smell around reception and bar area second when we went for dinner it took half hour before we got our order taken as there seemed to be a lack of staff also our food was not cooked to order third was went we left the mess of a restaurant as again there was nobody to clean up we went to the bar to have a few drinks after 15 minutes we where asked to move into the front bar that wasn't to bad but again after an hour we where asked to move again as the bar was closing at 12.30 and there is no residents bar which we new t be untrue as we have stead here before one couple as early as last week.we where now sitting in the reception after we complained we where told if we wanted a drink they would get one for us,we didnt take up this offer and went to bed not having a good night.

The pool was good, staff were lovely on check in. , Breakfast was a little disappointing, it was a cold unappealing buffet and I felt they could have catered more for kids as there were lots there on half term..maybe pancakes? Location wise I probably wouldnt stay again but that is purely because we wanted to do lots in town and it cost 7.80 for 4 of us on bus to go into town so that all adds up, so location wasnt ideal for us,, but couldnt fault anything about the hotel and we really enjoyed our stay.

We and few couples with kids booked b&b and dinner in clarion. the first disappointment was at the reception, when we was told about cash deposit of 50 Euro on the check in. they did not accepted credit card for deposit only cash and the nearest bank link was in liffey valey shopping centre:(. we booked few rooms on the same voucher but was giving rooms far from each other:(. dinner was delicious but desserts for my kids was disappointment- chocolate cake just 1 cm thick with rotten fresh berries- i mentioned this to the waiter, she looked at and told just sorry- we paid for this dessert around 4 Euro by the way :(. some cakes was decorated with cream some with chocolate- was a bit hard to explain to the small kids why they getting the same but different cakes.. Lovely staff at the swim pool- this is for sure. The rest of the personal at the reception and the restaurant was too busy to care about "lidl bookings"- just the way they called us:) One more thing- if you would go with the kids- be prepared that other kids would be running and playing in the floor hall until 1 or 2 am, and would not be stopped by security guards. and if u would like to have a rest with you lil one- it is absolutely unreal. We stayed at another Clarions before and really enjoyed, but was very disappointed with this one.

Breakfast was also badly organised, very few items left at the buffet- had to wait for bread to be slowly brought out by the waitress in order to stand at the toaster for another 10 minutes. Tea was in a pot which clearly was also used for coffee as it tasted like coffee!! Staff were nice, room was clean.

Booked 2BB1D at Clarion Liffey valley. Location is ideal for shopping and plenty of restaurants etc in area. One glitch - we decided to use the restaurant on the second night (Sunday) and mentioned this at reception as we booked in. However the main restaurant is closed on Sunday night and we weren't told this ! However the guy on the reception desk Sunday night was very helpful, and sorted it for us to get our meal in the bar. The food was excelllent!

We have stayed here on a number of occasions and we would highly recommend it as a friendly, convenient and comfortable hotel close to Dublin City. Food is excellent and the hotel is perfect for families as we have one child. She really enjoys swimming pool!!! Rooms are comfy and very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Looking forward already to our next visit! Lucia and family

We had a lovely stay in The Clarion Liffey Valley. Staff very friendly. Checked in very quickly and family room was perfect double and two single beds. Very clean and cosy. Used the pool facilities and fine decent pool and only 1.4m deep for top to bottom which was perfect as we could walk along the water as we have one child that cant swim. There was also a decent size childrens pool too. Breakfast both mornings was lovely and got table at peak times both mornings within 5 minutes of waiting and food lovely, help yourself and no shortage of anything. All in all very happy with out stay.

Had a lovely stay in hotel. The staff were very friendly and polite. Breakfast was excellent and the dinng room was run verry efficiently by the staff. Only downfall was the heat in the bedroom even aftter the window was opened. also had three 17 year old teenagers with us who wanted to use the gym and swimming pool but were unable to unless supervised by one of the adults. This was very inconvenient and i feel it would be more realistic to have age restrictions for under 16s and not 18s. Otherwise we had a lovely stay.

Myself and my partner stayed in the clarion liffey valley last Friday and Saturday night 6th and 7th of December. We are regular customers to the clarion hotel liffey valley. We love the cleanliness, service, friendliness and comfort of the hotel and so continue to come back. However last Saturday night the noise levels were appauling, people shouting, banging doors running in corridors which continued until 5.10 in the morning. We were very dissatisfied with our stay, there were many hotels we could of chose from in the area and would be tinking twice about staying here again. When we mentioned the problems to staff , we did not get a satisfactory response. Our bank card was charged the full amount for the stay, no reduction or discount for our unpleasant stay.

We love the Clarion, the thai food is fab. The only downside is parking is an extra cost, and there was no kids club.It is a great family hotel.

Stayed at the Clarion last weekend. The room was lovely and clean. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. The food was lovely. It was a bit hectic in the morning for breakfast. By the time we got our toast the breakfast was getting cold. So if you like toast with your breakfast you'd be better getting it before you get the rest of your food. It would of been perfect if there had been a cosier bar to sit in at night. I would defiantly stay here again.

Stayed on a Friday night, went shopping. Used gym and pool during the afternoon, all standard. Staff helpful, room perfect, food very good, good choice for breakfast, Lidl break great value for money, good Christmas atmosphere in reception and bar. Would recommend it.

Had a lovely stay, nice hotel, excellent dinner and breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would recommend this hotel and Lidl breaks. The only down side was paying for the hotel carpark, I felt that after booking and paying for rooms the carpark should be free.

Family of 4 stayed last weekend. Hotel lovely, clean, great pool and facilities. Easy access great location. Food lovely and great value. Problem was room too hot. No air conditioning just a large fan which was too loud to use. Also could hear all the noise in the coridoor....pity because perfect besides but a very bad nights sleep.

Claire scored 4 / 5 on 18/11/2013

We had a lovely time in the Clarion, the food was lovely and staff were very helpful and friendly. The only downer was that we had a family room which was very far away from the lifts/main reception. This didn't help with 2 small children.

Great location, great value, great customer care. Our only issue, not the fault of the hotel itself, was the madness at breakfast where everyone seemed to appear at once.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!!!!!! Had a 2 night stay B&B with 1 dinner inclusive. On our first night we were woken at 5am to the sound of boy racers in the private car park, as we were on the ground floor, one car was parked outside the window playing really loud music from the boot of his car, I rang down to reception but this continued all night. The breakfast was fine if you can get a seat. That evening we decided to go for a room service option for breakfast on the second morning (which is offered in the hotels in room guide) only to be told by the receptionist "they no longer provide this service as they couldn't provide a quality service and people were receiving cold breakfasts, so they just stopped". In my opinion this is not a suitable justification for your customers. Upon going down to breakfast at 9am the 2nd morning there was a queue which extended from the breakfast room to the front door of the hotel. We made the decision to go next door for breakfast to the arc. This hotel clearly cannot deal with the capacity of people it holds in the hotel. We tried on several occasions to go for a swim and the pool was at max capacity at all times with children, there is no cut off time for children in the pool. The most frightening thing about this hotel apart from the fact that your viewed as a wallet from the moment you walk in the door has to be the car park. Cars are regularly double parked all over the car park, by day and night, in front of FIRE HYDRANTS!! I really don't think the welfare of this hotels customers are a priority at all. Upon check out I explained all the things which had left our stay less than enjoyable to reception and was met with a "sorry and that's the direction in which you can pay for your parking". I've stayed in better hostels than this and am shocked it's a four star hotel, if there were negative stars that's what I would award our stay in this greedy hotel.

Had a lovely stay at Halloween. Staff were very friendly. My son loved Victoria on Reception - she was always so cheerful and friendly to children. The room was spacious and very clean. The swimming pool was great. There was a variety of breakfast items. It was a busy hotel but very child friendly so will stay again.

Well after reading the other reviews i think i must have stayed in a whole different hotel. I found it out dated tired and rooms were dirty. service was very bad in the dinning room and full of children. The staff were very nice at reception but having said that i would never stay here again certainly not a 4 star hotel

Joan scored 2 / 5 on 02/11/2013

I thought the room I was assigned was adequate for a family of three. However upon arrival I noted there were insufficient towels for the three of us. They were supplied when I requested them. That evening two of us went to the dining room for dinner. I ordered the sea bass. When it arrived I noted that there were three very small slivers of fish on the plate. Two tips of asparagus and two tiny portions of carrot also appeared alongside. I wrongly assumed that potatoes and more vegetables would be forthcoming. After a short time I called the manager and asked if there was some mistake but I was assured that I had received the correct portion. I was informed that I could order side dishes but they were extra. I did not want to pay extra for something that would normally be considered a part of what the hotel calls a dinner. The manager eventually sent over extra vegetables but I did not enjoy having to complain as it spoiled my evening. My son had the steak for an extra five euro but again was given hardly any vegetable or potatoes. The young waiter at the table was pleasant but the dinner portion was a disgrace. The dessert was nice but I would prefer a good dinner to a dessert any day. I realise that this was a special Lidl Break but I did not think that the all inclusive dinner would be curtailed in this manner. It should be stated clearly that this dinner comes without potatoes and sufficient vegetables for the average hungry patron. I would be reluctant to book one of these breaks again as I think I was given less because it was a special offer. It is not a good deal when the dinner is so small. After all the dinner in the restaurant is usually the highlight of the overnight stay.

We had a lovely time here. We were a big party including kids and the hotel catered for everyone. The only fault was a queue for breakfast one of the days even though we went downat 8. I would recommend this break and it was great value for money.

Tracey scored 4 / 5 on 01/11/2013

Very nice staff, very friendly. Family rooms a little small. Child friendly. Little things like movie night for kids really made a difference. Downside was because we hadn't left credit card details at reception we couldn't charge anything to the room so had to pay for everything as we went along. I always find it much better to be able to pay for everything at checkout. The restaurant telephoned our room after dinner looking for payment for kids meals & drinks there & then, as if we were going to run off or something. I didn't like this and haven't experienced this at any other hotels. A nice hotel otherwise & would return.

The hotel is very clean and with a good leisure centre but that is all that is good about this hotel. The staff could do with going on a customers relations course as we found them very rude and unhelpful. We ordered a pot of tea after our evening meal in the bar and are still waiting for it. The breakfast was alright except when you do get a pot of tea there is coffee mixed in with it and this happened twice during our stay. The liffey valley shopping centre is only across the road and is well worth a visit as is the pub beside the hotel.

We spent two nights at the hotel over the Bank holiday period. It was lovely hotel, Staffs are extremely friendly and supportive. Hotel room is spacious, clean and well-presented. The hotel lounge is cozy, comfortable and child-friendly. On the second day they forgot to give our tea and coffee after the room service. The staff offered us coffee to take away for our trip. Such a nice gesture which isn't happen often in other hotel. Highly recommended place to stay. Just half an hour away from Galway city and you'll have a nice hotel to rest. Worth every penny!

We recently stayed at The Clarion Liffey Valley. The rooms were spacious and of good quality, excellent shower, very clean room and bathroom and plenty of channels on the tv. The bar/restaurant was nice although not overly cosy. We had lunch in the restaurant which was quite expensive for the size of it with no chips or veg etc included, however it was very tasty. The hotel is very convenient to the Liffey Valley shopping centre and an excellent cinema. There is also a restaurant/bar/niteclub very close to the hotel. Dublin city centre and many attractions such as the zoo are only a 10 -15 min drive away. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and will be back on our next visit to Dublin

Stayed for 1 night on a 1BB for 2ads and 2ch, so kids stayed free. Just paid for food. Halloween break time, so it was hectic. Check in was fine. On arrival to room, which was huge, no bed made up for kids. We contacted reception and this was done within 5 minutes. Went for dinner in the restaurant as there was a deal for 2 ads and 2ch for €50.00. Excellent food and good waiter. Bar staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was a bit hectic for the first 5 mins. We had to queue as many turned up at the same time, and as it was so busy just at that time, we had to wait a few minutes on the juice glasses, cereal bowls and the bread baskets to be replenished. There were no cups or saucers on the table either, but we helped ourselves. It all settled down shortly after and staff were working as fast as they could. The food was buffet style and was delicious. We used the leisure centre before we left which was also excellent. Again, staff friendly and efficient. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. Good value for money. I would stay again. Good location for shopping in Liffey Valley or Dundrum etc.

We took advantage of the 1DB&B offer. The room allocated was modern, well presented and clean. There was a good choice with the package dinner menu and we were also offered an allocated amount as an alternative if we wished to eat from the main menu. The staff member that served us in the Kudos bar had excellent customer services skills. The quality of breakfast was good and there was plenty of choice. The only down side was that personally the hotel seemed to lack that homely feel.

We stayed for one night in the Clarion Liffey Valley. The room was spacious and very clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was the best I've had for long time and excellent choice of all food was available. I also had the dinner the night before. There were 6 for dinner and 2 of us got the Sea Bass and both's of us were disappointed with this dish it was a very small portion and I have tasted nicer all the other guests were happy with there choice. I would go back to this hotel I may not book the dinner the next time.

Great hotel, we had a lovely time, staff were very friendly and children felt very welcome. Food was delicious, the only reproach is that dinner doesn't include vegetables or fries. You have to pay extra for them and it is only fair to know these things in advance, especially when you are encouraging other families to come. There were eighteen of us and some of them on a tight budget so I would have liked to let them know. Overall I would say excellent and we will be back again in Spring.

Just back from a 2 day mid week break at Clarion Liffey Valley where we had a great time. Hotel is very clean and all the staff are really friendly, professional and helpful. We got a room change within 5 mins when my husband asked for a room with a balcony so he could nip out for a smoke. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Food was excellent and we returned empty plates. I can highly recommend the chicken roulade and my husband said the steak was amongst the best he had tasted. The hotel was very handy to bus route to Dublin which we used. It was lovely to go to Dublin have a nice lunch and a glass of wine and not have to worry about driving. Would thoroughly recommend Clarion Hotel and we will definitely be heading back there soon

Every time we go to Dublin we always make sure we stay in this hotel. Not because of its rooms nor facilities, but because of the food and the service it provides. The staff, from the receptionist to the waiters in the hotel's restaurant, are very welcoming. The breakfast food was superb! There were a lot of options. The dinner was good as well. Our stay was really pleasant because of those things. The hotel would be perfect, if the rooms were updated. The rooms were not modern. The shower curtain need a change. And it would be great if the television is a flat screen. The only issue we had was the room was very warm. We were given an electric fan, but still its very warm at night. All in all the hotel needs some updating.

I was very disappointed with our stay. Due to a mix up in the booking one of our party was without a bed for the night. Reception were aware of the problem when we checked in and made arrangement with housekeeping for a cot to be brought to the room. However two hours later nothing had been done. At that stage the child whom the bed was for had fallen asleep. I was informed by reception that the cot was gone and the only option was to push the beds together. Another hour passed, and I rang reception four times without an answer on the fifth ring reception picked up. I requested towels as the room was without any, pillows and duvets and we arranged ourselves for the night. The following morning we were greeted by a 20minute wait to be seated for breakfast at 8.15am. The breakfast room could only be described as a cattle mart, room was very limited, it was impossible to make your way around to get what you wanted. queues for everything meant that by the time you made your way around, your breakfast was cold. Having been grateful to make it back to the table before dinner time, It became a game of catch the waiter to try and get tea, only to successfully complete that trial, we realised there were no tea spoons or sugar on the table. Butter and bread was also gone before 9am. It is not a hotel I would be recommendation to families. It was an exhausting stay.

We all had steak and paid a €5 supplement for that which was fine but we also had to pay extra for all our side orders including fries. We were not impressed and will not be returning.. Also on the night the Hotel was full and while we expected a delay for breakfast we did not expect to stand in a queue for 50 minutes, like kids in a schoolyard. There were not enough staff to deal with the crowds. They could not even keep the tables cleared.. ..Our rooms were fine and the staff were most helpful, But we will not be returning....

We were happy enough with this hotel. It is extremely child friendly, we have 3 kids aged between 15 months and 6 years and the hotel caters well for their needs. There was a playroom for the toddler who was very happy in their in the evenings, there's also a small playground on site and cinema room every evening for the kids. We were never told about these facilities when we checked in and found out on day 3 of a 5 day stay about playroom for toddler from another parent staying there, so that was a shame. You can stay in the bar with kids til around 10 or that and the pool is pretty good. Food is fab and it's an extra bonus being so close to Liffey Valley Shopping Centre. If I were to find any faults, it would be the 4 euro charge for parking each day and also the staff were not very friendly, on checking out the girl at reception made no effort to make conversation and didn't even ask if we had a nice time which I thought was a bit cold. All in all that is minor so I will be returning to this hotel with the little ones whenever we wish to stay in Dublin again.

Had three night break. Two family rooms. Found check in at reception not very impressionable start as lady who checked us in made no conversation and didn't do anything to make us feel welcome. In our 3 nights there only met about 2 friendly members of staff. Children enjoyed the pool and kids play room. Teen room was bit Irish, had list of things including table tennis, computer games, pool laser quest. All that was there was a pool table&laser quest both which were €1.50 a go!!! We had inclusive breakfast and also dinner. Dinner was tasty but the same 4 main courses on offer all 3 nights was boring. Breakfast was hit and miss. Eggs were cold 2 out of 3 days. But on plus location for us was fine, convenient for where we wanted to go. Good hot shower, clean rooms. Would stay again.

Just returned from a 2 night stay n the clarion liffey valley. Had fantastic time would definitely recommend it. Had a 1 year old 3 and 4 year old. They just loved the playroom. It was opened until 10 on the fri night as they were showin a toy story film n there and it closed at 6 r 7 on the sat night which was a bit early. The only negative thing I have to say is no air con in the rooms and a pity the fridge wasn't bigger as with the hot weather I was trying to keep the baby bottles cool. Went to pirates village in liffey valley shopping centre 10 mins walk away my lads loved it but very expensive u have to pay extra for nearly everything in there. we stayed in the clarion hotel liffey valley over the june bank holiday weekend, we arrived at the hotel to find that we were complimentary upgraded to an apartment to our surprise, but we ate at the hotel for breakfast and dinner. we were amazed at the apartment, the cleanliness of the place, the size and suitability. the hotel staff were all so helpful and friendly. we were so happy with everything over the weekend that we stayed another night. we will definently be back again to the Clarion Hotel Liffey valley, the hotel is in a perfect location, close to everything!!!! see you again Clarion Hotel..

Room clean and tidy, swiming pool and leisure centre great. 4 euro to park for a 24 hour period outrageous. Food auful service in the restaurant even worse waited at table for 15 mins before a menu was presented, the menu charged for everything, when you ordered a main course at a high price you had to order the side dishes speparately at a very inflated cost, after twice reminding the staff I had orderd a drink it finally arrived after we had finished eating. Breakfast very little choice on hot food, ie only scrambled egg,no fried boiled or poached, sausages only fried none grilled bacon seriously undercooked beans cold and no brown or soda bread.Breakfast tea and coffe again arrived after the food was consumed. I would recommend the hotel to stay in to sleep and use the leisure facilities, BUT DO NOT EAT THERE. I went through nine yes 9 programable room keys.every time I returned to the room the key failed to work, back to reception for a new one.

Check in at reception was perfect staff was lovely and very helpful , We got up to our room and OMG the heat was ridiculous , the window only opened about 2 inches which I understand for kids safety reasons so we searched for the air con - none !! We had a 3 ye old and a 5 month old with us so to do anything from. Dressing the kids turned into the must uncomfortable thing over the heat - to blow dry my hair on top of the already heat was disgusting - so off we went about our day and I popped into reception to ask what the story with the heating or air con was as even both my kids left the room with 2 big red rosy cheeks from it , The lady advised its an automatic system but she could request a fan to be put in the room so I thought perfect ! That's evening we came back and the fan was in the room from that moment we put on the fan it was never once switched off until w checked out 2 days later - that was a big thing for me. !! Breakfast had a fab choice , buffet, breads, fruit and pastries - just be there early cause if not the que is very very very long outside :-( And one last thing is we had dinner booked for us on the Sunday evening in the restaurant for 7.30 - they took our drinks order and then food order approx 7.40 still at 8.30 we didn't as so much receive our drinks yet never mind a starter !! We were starved ! Food was delicious tho and very well presented just very understaffed it was so obvious !! Not a bad hotel but I won't be rerunning for the above reasons :-)

I recently stayed on a two night break with my family. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was clean and of a good standard.for the price. The only complaint I had was the length of time waiting for meal in the restaurant was most unacceptable. The food at the restaurant was very nice when it finally did arrive. At the time the restaurant wasn't exceptionally busy. We would stay here again.

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and got a great deal....Food, hotel etc,,, was all great. The leisure centre was also a bonus! and we made use of this before we had breakfast. However, i did stipulate that we are light sleepers... we were placed in an apartment (which we didn't require as there was only 2 of us and we were only there for 1 night. The apartment was right beside the pub/disco bar and we could not sleep from the noise, plus next to us were a crowd of young ones partying. This was the only downside and it's a pity because we hardly slept a wink.

The check in procedure was easy (except it was the night the French rugby fans hit the hotel). The room was at the end of 2 long corridors but it was fairly quiet except for the fact it was by the car park exit barrier and a lot of people didn't realise that you need to pay for the parking in the hotel foyer. The room was excellent with a very large bed and the shower room was huge. We had a dinner and breakfast meal package and the food was good if a little limited menu. Check the board in reception for the busy times for breakfast or be prepare for chaos! Again check out procedure was painless. I would recommend this hotel.

Room was to hot no air-con, walls seem like paper as the next door trash were arguing all night (and I thought this place was family friendly??), both mentioned ruined our stay to be honest, wouldn't go back.

We stayed at the hotel on the May Bank Holiday weekend, 2 adults 30-36 and an 11 month old baby. Staff were very polite and helpful throughout our stay and I found the facilities etc to be good. We were a 20 minute drive to the Zoo and a 30 minute walk or 2 min drive from Liffey Valley shopping centre which has a good variety of shops. The swimming pool is big and clean and we all enjoyed our stay. I have dropped a star because on both nights, we were woken up by other guests roaring and shouting in the corridor and I am not talking 1-2am, this was between 5-6am which really disgusted me to be honest that people can be so disrespectful to others. Although there is little the hotel can do to stop other people making noise it did spoil our stay as it left us tired during the day.

Two words, keep away! Stayed Easter weekend when hotel was full. Very few staff workings so therefore service was terrible. Had to wait over two hours for two courses in restaurant with two children under four. Wouldn't of minded if the food was good when it arrived but it was terrible. Four star label is a joke. I see now why today fm gets certain hotels at a discount!

I stayed in the hotel on mother’s day weekend (arival 8th March) for a two night B&B and one evening meal. On the Saturday night we had our FREE evening meal which turned out to be a lie all that was free was part of a steak because there was a supplement which was fair enough but to have to pay for the spuds vegetables and chips the point of a free evening meal made no sense?? When I asked the young guy in a suit what did I actually get free his reply was ""dessert"".. I really enjoyed the hotel and thought it was a ideal hotel for a break I feel that incident in the restaurant left a sower taste in my mouth the whole weekend!! Damien Corrigan

1. We were told by two different staff members to take Exit 7 off the M50 to get to the Hotel. After driving toward the city and getting lost, the hotel was located at Exit 2!!! A very weak 'sorry madam' was all we received when I pointed this out upon our eventual arrivel. 2. Asked about a taxi into town, was told it would cost €25.00 one way, actual price €16.00, how can staff get it so so wrong? 3. Room smelled of smoking, we were told it was not a smoking room, but there was a smoking smell. 4. Breakfast: fruit juice dispenser 'out of order' so, not fruit juice... in a hotel with a bar??? We asked and were given a very watered down Mi Wadi style 'fruit' drink, awful! Thhis drink was packed with ice, who has iced orange juice at breakfast. 5 We will NOT be back, they need to visit the Clarion in Sligo to see how it is done!!!! Colette Byrne.

The highlight of our nights stay was leaving… Where do I start? My husband and I decided to go away for the night last minute Saturday 26th Jan. The Clarion is only in Liffey Valley, a 4 star it seemed the obvious choice. BIG MISTAKE! We booked the B&B & Dinner offer. Our arrival was not eventful reception staff friendly. We had requested non smoking room as my husband is asthmatic. Our first impression of the room was good very spacious, however a bit cold. I checked the heater and it was warm. Our room had disabled shower access (not required); my husband decided he would have a shower before dinner. He turned the shower on and no water – we checked the sink and there was no issue with water from the taps just nothing from the shower. Then we noticed the floor!! The tiles were filthy dirty in the whole bathroom. He had to go without the shower and we went to dinner it was booked for 8 pm, we reported the issue with the shower to reception on our way and they assured us they would have it sorted out. We arrived in the restaurant which was very cold, we would have gone back to the room to get a jumper and cardigan except it was so far away. Our meal had a promising start Husband had chicken wings and I the Goats cheese bruschetta - both really nice. Our mains arrived; we both opted for steak and after the first mouthful I knew the steak was gone off. The restaurant manager offered another steak which we refused and opted to order the salmon dish – which was ok. To be honest I was already turned off my food was not particularly interested in eating. After our delightful! Dinner we headed back to our room to find that the shower issue had not been resolved and the room was even colder that when we had arrived. We called reception; they had no issue moving us however they only had smoking rooms available as they had to move 5 other groups of people from their rooms that night. We were moved to a room on the smoking floor by a lovely girl called Biaba; she even carried some of our things. When we arrived to the new room the shower was working but you are not going to believe this the room was colder than the other room. Biaba went and got us another duvet and a plug in electric heater; she was so apologetic about the situation. So settled into our new room with our electric heater and 2nd duvet I need to use the toilet and lifted the lid to be faced with either dirty water or dread of all dreads someone else’s pee. I actually took a picture which is posted on Trip advisor. At this point I was actually looking for hidden cameras as I thought we were part of a candid camera TV show or an episode of Faulty Towers!! Oh Almost forgot to mention the TV was not working in our replacement room either. After all that there was breakfast; this was an ok affair nothing spectacular but ok definitely not 4 stars!! And just in case you are wondering we will NOT be back….

We found this hotel fantastic, hotel staff were superb very obliging, food was lovely, rooms were clean and tidy, the only criticism I would have about the hotel is the location of our room we were put on the second floor but way over the far side of the hotel and it was a bit of a walk to reception, but other than thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Queues everywhere. At check in, swimming pool, dinner, breakfast & at check out. Dinner took 50 mins to get main course. Breakfast was like feeding time at the zoo. Food was rashined. Rusty element in kettle in room. Yellow stains on tiles. Shower leaking on floor. Noisy room. Was woken at up at 3am. Pool was unsupervised & dangerous for children. This is not a 4 star. I would think its closer to 1 and a half star. Lifts & room numbers were confusing. Parking was good. I would never stay again.

I booked 2 nights stay plus evening meals for my parents as a present. As this was a gift I wanted my card charged for the full amount but had to wait almost 3 hours to finally get through to the Hotel by telephone to confirm details. When my parents arrived, they were initially given a basement room overlooking a big wall, however they were moved later. There was no shower gel in the room despite having asked for some, my mother had to go outside to a shop to buy some. The pool was full of children, but they were told the pool would be child free from 8 - 9 in the morning when they went in at 8, the pool was partitioned off & full of toddlers and babies. At checkout, despite my having specified that my card was to b e charged for the full amount, they were asked to settle up and had to tell the receptionist it was already paid for. Very disappointed

1. Ordered a room with a double bed. When we went to go to bed that night we realised it was just 2 single beds pushed together which meant my girlfriend and I had to sleep on separate sides of the bed for the night as there was a gap in the middle of the bed and a height difference which meant You couldn’t lie in the middle of the bed. 2. Also the room was one of the family joint rooms with the doors in the room linking into the rooms next door which meant we could hear everything from the rooms next door 3. We planned on watching a movie in the room and it said when we were booking the room that it came with a flat screen TV so we brought our laptop so we could plug it into the TV through the HDMI port which flat screens come standard with. When we got to the room it was an old TV set (not flat screen) that did not have this port so couldn’t use the laptop. 4. We thought that was fine as it also said there was pay per view films in the room. This turned out not to be true either. 5. we tried to look on bright side and we said we would do the movie meal deal but this was only available in the Kudos restaurant and we didn’t eat Asian food. 6. We then decided to go for a swim at 8pm as we now had nothing to do to then find out that the gym closed at half 7. That’s fair enough but I have never come across a gym that closes that early anywhere. 7. I then went to book dinner in Sinergie at 9.00pm to be told it closed early that night as it was quiet. It was advertised to be open till ten. We were told that we could order pizza or sandwiches from room service if we liked. 8. I rang back ten minutes later to order a pizza to which I was told that the pizza was no longer available when it was advertised to be served till 3.00am 9.My girlfriend was furious at this stage and she rang the front desk to complain about the whole thing, the bed, the TV, the gym and the restaurants closing early etc. After been put on hold for short time she came back to us and told us that the pizza was now available, that they were missing a main ingredient but it was now available again. That somehow it mysteriously re appeared which I find hard to believe. For our trouble she offered us complimentary breakfast which was no use to us as we had already paid for bed and breakfast. 10. We still had to pay for room service for our food even though it was not our fault we could not go down and get it because restaurant closed early. 11. The keyboard wasn’t working in our room either. 12. Paid for room service to order ice and a pen and only got the ice. I know it was only a pen but we needed it to fill out our breakfast form so had to go down and get it anyway. It defeated the whole purpose of getting room service. 13.Filled out our breakfast form. Ordered tea for breakfast and ordered it for 10 - 10.30am and it came at 9.45am and with coffee instead of tea My friends stayed there 2 weeks later and had a similar experience

Stayed in January for one night as a family of 4 Room consisted of a 2 single beds and a double and met our expectations. bathroom was ensuite. Parking is available around the hotel at an extra charge but the charge is reasonable. Room was comfortable although external temperature was cold during our stay . There is a playground suitable for young children and we used the playground on during our stay. We ate in the restaurant -had both dinner and breakfast food for dinner was enjoyable- compliments to the chef and waiting staff - breakfast was the usual buffet affair and met expectations . We obtained good value for money for a one night weekend stay and overall were satisfied with the hotel its food and its amenities. We would stay in this hotel again if offered similar value. We award 3.5 stars out of 5 to this hotel.

We recently stayed here as a family, The Hotel is fine for a night, It is a little tired and could do with freshing it up a bit. the food in the Kudos bar is good, and the prices are ok. The kids menu are all around 6 euro, the spagetti bolognase we got was very small, with very little meat. The best ever curry was ok, though the beef was tough, not the best i'm afraid. The leisure centre is nice, a few things like inflatable toys for the children would be useful. Rubber rings etc, there was nothing at all for them to float on. All the staff are helpful and if you need to stay in that location then for the price it's ok, The room cost us 80 euro and we wnded up spending 90 in the bar for anavaerage dinner nd a few drinks, there is 1 4 euro car park charge too. So when you total everything it was not that cheap. Breakfast was free, and was very good with a good selection.

A lovely place to stay. Myself and my partner went for a Christmas Shopping Weekend to Dublin City and used the train and the buses to get around. It was great. No luas to the hotel, but the bus service is great, only 20 minutes or so and the buses run every 10 minutes. The Hotel is top drawer, everything we needed - never had a problem. The swimming pool and the jacuzzi are to die for, especially after a hectic day in the city. The staff are lovely and friendly, very attentive. The Shopping Centre is only 5 mins of a walk and is well worth a few hours of a browse, it has a cinema in there also. We will definitely make this our first choice when visiting Dublin again. The room we had was brilliant, a long corridor though so if you not good on your feet you might want to say this at the check-in, but we did have our room immediately on check-in, tht was at 10am on the Saturday morning, so we had no complaints as to where the room was. The bed is very comfortable and there is a fridge and a safe in the room. It as a beautiful break, we were well looked after. Rose and Eamon

Have stayed in 3 star hotels just as good, Restaurant was not open during the week which we were not made aware of before or when checking in. Although it was able to accommadate coach tours that were staying in the hotel on the Thursday night (bar only served and Asian Menu!!!) We only noticed this after returning from a nice cafe/bar across the road, where we had a really nice meal, great service at a reasonable price. Hotel is handy for Liffey Valley shopping centre which we could walk to. Rooms very clean & modern but we were allocated a room so far away from reception/main entrance etc that it involved 2 long corridors and a lift to get there and back. All in all, fine for short stay but nothing to write home about.

The Hotel Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. I would however expect to have bottled water in a four star hotel but I can not argue as i got a very good deal through LIDL breaks. I had something to eat in the bar and i have to say it was lovely and the staff were very helpful. I was away on business and the Hotel was very near to where I had to go so it really suited as a location. It is also great if you want to go shopping as the Liffey Valley is only a few minutes away. There was a good variety and selection for Breakfast. I would give this hotel a 3 star rating.

Reviewer38531050 scored 3 / 5 on 05/08/2012

Great facilities for kids with playroom and movie nights. However, the hotel needs to improve in the area of cleanliness. The cutlery, plates and dishes were not washed properly......the carpets in the corridor and on stairways were filthy.......I have stayed in hotels of all classes and I would not rate this as a 4 star hotel. It is a very busy hotel with lots of families and I don't think they put the time into maintaining a 4 star quality. Although the facilites were great for the kids and the pool was more than adequate, I would not stay here again as I feel there is no excuse for dirty plates and cutlery...just put them through the dishwasher a second time?!?!?

The lady hotel receptionist is not nice, i did booked for family room for 2 adults and 2 kids but she gave me double room with only one double bed. She dont think properly. Reception dont answer the phone straight away, it takes ages before they answer or they donr answer at all.

The hotel was in a good location for visiting the zoo and County Kildare. All staff were friendly and most were helpful. the hotel was very busy, however, and breakfast was very chaotic. Dinner took a long time to arrive in the restaurant also. Swimming pool was lovely with great children's pool and the playroom was very useful as the weather wasn't great. Our executive suite was very convenient for travelling with a toddler as there was lots of space - a separate living area with small kitchenette. Our main problem was the excessive heat in the rooms made it difficult to sleep.

Mouse scored 3 / 5 on 07/06/2012

Hotel was busy, but check in and check out were fast and efficient. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Children and adults loved the pool which was well heated and area very clean. Rooms were clean, however the only complaint I would have was the heat of my room, windows only open a tiny amount and the room was uncomfortably hot which affected all our sleep the first night. Was able to get a fan for the second night which helped somewhat but hotel needs to invest in some controlled air system. Overall would stay again (in a cooler part of hotel) very central location.

Staff were very nice and friendly, and food was lovely but service for both dinner & breakfast was appalling, we booked dinner for 8pm table for two we qued from 7.55pm until 8.25pm to be seated, for breakfast we waited in line for 20 minutes to be seated we will not be returning to this hotel. Two lamps in the room were not working and the firealarm went off at 4.30am waking all guests however there was no need to be evacuated as another guest 'accidently' put it off'. I commend the staff but put it down to experience will never return to this hotel and will not be recommending it either

My husband and our 2 children (4 and 1yrs) stayed in a family room on a busy Saturday night of a bank holiday. We were checked in promptly. We found the hotel to be clean. We used the pool on two occasions and really liked it although the dressing room area was cold for our young children. The breakfast the next morning was excellent. I ordered an omlette to be freshly made which was brought out quite quickly. ALL stafff members we encountered were polite and helpful. This hotel has an excellent location for shopping, cinema and the zoo. We have stayed there before in their two bed roomed apartments which are great. I was very impressed to have a fridge in the room unexpectedly and this was super for cold drinks, yogurts etc for the children. There was no air conditioning and the window opened so little it did not help to cool us down on a very heavy night and so we all found it very difficult to get to sleep. I did not think to ask for a fan until late in the night. I WILL use this hotel again in the future most definately but if it's in the summer I will make sure to ask ahead for a fan for the bedroom!

Would not stay on this hotel ever again . On arrival we were asked for 100 each deposit each for both hotel rooms . Had booked 1 triple room and only had 2 beds in it , eventually after about 3 hours they put a 'camp bed' in it . I rang up a couple of days before hand looking for both rooms to be interconnecting which they were not . Food in the resturaunt was only average and so was breakfast . I was very disappointed with this hotel and would not recommend it .

We booked the Clarion Liffey valley for a Sunday night (13th of May) as a gift for our son and daughters Confirmation.I chose this hotel for its location, family rooms and most importantly for the swimming pool which was the main reason for booking this hotel.I have 5 children ages from 5 to 15yrs. I had phoned the hotel twice prior to our visit to confirm the opening times of the pool as we would be arriving on the Sunday pm, to be told that the pool stayed open untill 8pm.When we arrived the receptionist informed us that the pool had been closed for renovations for the past week and would not be open for our stay. My children were very disappointed. We were offered complimentary passes to a public pool the next day but as we were expecting to use the hotel pool I had not brought any towels. If , when I phoned on the Thursday, they had let me know the pool was closed I would have booked another hotel.I was also informed that if I decided to cancel the booking(bearing in mind its Sunday evening at 5pm with 5 children on their confirmation day to try and find another hotel at such short notice) I would loose my deposit. We did enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine and they did cover the charge for 3 of the kids meals, but I had this budgeted into the cost of our stay anyway. It was a big disappointment having no pool!!!!!

Great location, and very clean accomodation. Car park was safe enough. However the dinner menu for the food included with the lidl break was very poor. This could be improved alot. There was 1 carrot and 2 aspargus with the steak and the beef pie and chicken supreme were not supreme. so overall I would stay her again but would not go dinner.

This hotel is in no way a four star hotel, even a two star would be over compesating. I emailed hotel before I arrived as my little girl aged two has severe asthma to ask for a well ventilated room in a quiet part of hotel with a cot bed. The obviously did not read any part of this email as my room overlooked the car park on the 3rd floor and with no ventilation as windows do not open or could not see any vents, also no cot in room, had to ring reception for this and when cot arrived, it came with no bed clothes or pillows, apparently the dont provide these. I requested a family room and did not get this, infact found my room a bit pokey. The green throws on bed were full of dried in stains and the lampshades also had stains on them I found this disgusting. I had to ring reception to request towels to bath my little one as the well worn hand towel and small bath towe lin bathroom was not sufficient. No tolietries i.e shower hats etc provided. The breakfast wasnt great either and kept running out of stuff, which was taken up to 20 mins to replace. Had not much for childrens breakfast and the yogurt was in a bowl and looked like milk rather than yogurt it was very watery. Overall wouldnot reccommend this hotel. Have stayed in better hostels in my life.

Stayed in Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley on Friday march 30th arrived around 8:30 got to our room after a long walk to it on the ground Floor far side from reception. went for dinner included on package nice girl show us to our seats but were served by a dark haired girl whom we felt would rather we weren't there.soup was nice as was the steak but my wife's pan fried chicken was rock hard/ burned she returned this and it was replaced by another which had been cooked in the microwave (not good) my wife didn't eat it but said no more and returned to our room. the room was dirty with some sort of body fluid stains on the pillows and top sheet the toilet would not flush. i phoned reception and a very nice porter came and changed us to different room at 11pm. this room was clean and nice to stay in. breakfast was good with lots of choice but there was a lot of folk that had stayed the night for a boxing tournament on Saturday. As i was looking to book the hotel for a football team i wont now cause all i would get is grief for players and parents. it is far from a four star but if staff could be improved with more care to customers who knows.

This hotel was lovely comfortable and clean, with all the mod cons that you would expect from a modern hotel. Cant comment on the gym, didnt want to beak a lifelong rule and actually exercise, but there is a swimming pool, sauna the works at the hotel. The evening dinner menu was quite short, didnt have much variety, but what was on it was really tasty. Breakfast next morning was great, full fry or continental. This hotel would be great for a girls shopping night, or on the way to croke park etc if you didnt want to drive into the city. Excellent value for money

Nicola scored 5 / 5 on 27/03/2012

Myself and 2 friends booked the Clarion for a girly night away/ catch up and it was ideal. We chose it because of its proximity to Liffey Valley Shopping Centre - so we could browse the shops during the day and chill in the hotel in the evening. We couldn't fault the hotel - staff across the board were friendly and helpful, the food was good, the atmosphere in the restaurant and bar was great (lively - but not too noisey or crazy), the room was clean and modern and the whole experience was really positive. And even more positive when you consider the price - incredible value! As one friend said - a champagne break on a lemonade budget!

The restaurant was ok food was very average. The next morning we got breakfast to the room and it came late and was cold. We requested a late check-out as my partner wanted to use the gym facilities and at 11.58 a knock came to the door to see where we checking out as the room needed to be cleaned I told the lady that we had requested a late check out her reply was very rude as she said she would have to check that . Recently stayed in the Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley. There is a leisure centre that we went to once and it was full of kids. Had dinner there too and it was really nice. There is also a kids menu. Rooms are very nice. Brakfast consisted of yogurt, fruit, pastries, cereal and the usual rashers, sausages etc. Staff not very helpful. When we requested a poached egg, the waitess said there was none and then we saw somebody eating one. We had a nice stay in the Clarion hotel, but I believe the staff should be more helpful.

I enjoyed my stay in the Clarion Liffey Valley last Saturday the 5th of November. However, I'm really surprised you have graded it a 5 star location as it is far from that. The rooms are nice but basic and not very spacious. The first room we were given had a leak in it so we had to be moved. The staff were very helpful though and we enjoyed out stay. The facilities are great and we made full use of them. The deal with Lidl breaks is very good value and I would highly recommend it. I would give the Clarion a 3.5/4 star rating but give the Lidl deal itself 5 stars as it's excellent value for money.

After being met with nothing short of a brick wall and rude operator when we tried to merge two bookings togehter we were looked after by front desk manager, Shannon, who was nothing short of the perfect example of customer care. Our room was quite bg with three single beds and very comfortable. Bathroom was spotless. Room had TV, fridge, lots of storage, ironing board, hair dryner, etc. Eventhough our room looked out onto the N4 we couldn't hear any traffic what so ever. There was a vending machine at the lift on each floor which proved very handy when we got back late that night after the Arc bar next door. Dinner was absolutely delicious and was included in the price. Breakfast was served til 11 and check out wasn't til 12 which was an added bonus. Staff at check in and check out were very friendly and helpful. There is a swimming pool and jacuzzi but we didn't have time to use them. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just recently stayed in the clarion hotel, have to say the room was a plus lovely decor and the staff were nice and helpful whatever way they can the down side was the food i have to say, i am a bit of a foodie and really thought the quality of the food was very poor and less than average for this kind of hotel the phrase " all style no substance" comes to mind without sounding harsh! another down side was unfortunately the fact that this was the first hotel i have ever been to where you have to actually pay for your parking??????? and the rooms were quite hot with the thermostat "out of service"?????? all in all we did enjoy our stay but i think management should really sit down and assess their food quality in restaurant for both dinner and breakfast

good value. Exellent leisure centre and breakfast. However room size too small for family room - double bed, single bed and camp bed in standard size room #503 on third floor. Also temperature very hot, no air conditioning, and could only open window a couple of inches. There was a fan in the room but still very warm and claustrophobic with smell of smoke coming from somewhere. Led to bad nights sleep for ourselves and two young children.....which spoils the stay a little.

The “clean plates / cups etc were visibly dirty and it looked like there was no manager around to keep things in check. Also a hotel charging guests for car parking is just ridiculous.

One of the first things I like in a hotel is a warm welcome, this I did not receive from Patricia , the woman who checked me in to the Clarion. Not even a smile! At least her colleague Jeffery had a smile and a word for our group of four. Had requested room with walk in shower and had to wait nearly 30 mins extra for that. Room far too small for cot and fold up (uncomfortable) bed.Hotel too far from bus stop and was quoted %u20AC25 for taxi from city centre. On the plus side, all other staff outstanding as was food and leisure centre. Great value too. Would consider it again only if travelling without children as too far out of city with all the luggage and buggy on the bus.

Family room is small and the bathroom is stink and smell fiss, can't sleep well because can hear the noise outside the hallway, in the leisure centre no cups in the drinking stations, lovely food, friendly staff in the restaurant.

I would only rate it 2 star. It has no air conditioning in rooms and could not open the windows. We also had to pay for the hotel car park which I did not realise.

Stephen scored 5 / 5 on 03/05/2011

when we checked in the family room that we had booked was not available as they were all booked out even though this was not stated on the website. we were offered a roll away bed as our extra bed which we had no option but to take as there was 4 of us staying - 2 adults & 2 children. however after this was put in the room over 6 hours later ( after we had called to reception 3 times for the extra bed ), the room became very cramped and the table and chair were just shoved in the corner as there was no room to move around( the room was to small for this ). this bed was also broken at the side with a bar sticking out. at this stage we just left it and didn't complain any more and just put up with it. i also found that quite a number of the staff just didn't want to know or help and were quite ignorant. this was surprising as i have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions in the past and found it quite a pleasent experience. stephen walsh ( 25th april - 28th april 2011 )

Our stay at the Clarion was lovely. It is a gorgous hotel, the staff were lovely, the room was gorgous and the breakfast was beautiful. I would definitly recommend lidl breaks you get great value for money and there are no hidden extras and no hassle when bookin. We will definitly be using lidl breaks from now on.

My family and i stay in the Clarion Liffey Valley hotel and in general was happy with the hotel , location was good and hotel first impresion was great the room was clean only too small whe you sharing with two children, And at dinner time i was entitle to two course dinner and when the waiter took the order dindt explain propaly about the way you order as aparently you have to order separate your veg and patatoes or chips if desire and this is as an additional price. The pool was big only the supervision was not that great as there were a lot of children jumping to the pool and messin.

I stayed at the Clarion over the Easter weekend, it was very busy but they had enough staff on to cope. Some delays for breakfast table (as mentioned in handout when checking in) if you choose the busiest times. I found the hotel really nice and clean. We have three kids, one in a cot, and we all fitted in one room, this is what you want with a family, they accommodated us eventhough we did have to request the cot couple of times. Plenty of food for breakfast, self service. Hotel is in great position as we walked over to Liffey Valley Centre. Nice kids pool, I found the main pool nice aswell but with young kids I found the tiles used in pool too dark making feel a bit dangerous. Overall a good hotel and would stay here again with Lidl breaks making it more affordable for familys to holiday more often. Anna Marie O'Brien

Stayed in the Clarion Liffey Valley with 5 friends for a treat Mother's day weekend. Had a lovely time but we were surprised there was no evening entertainment for the weekend it was. Dinner was excellent but not a lot of choice. Breakfast, Rooms, Pool, Staff overall very good. Great location for shopping in Liffey Valley shopping centre which we really enjoyed. Lidl breaks great value for money. Would definitely stay again and would recommend this hotel.

stayed here with my family last weekend, and couldn,t fault anything. Lidl breaks are great value for money and this is only more evident when you look at hotel prices in other cities. For the price we paid for weekend break i'll certainly be using Lidl breaks again and the Clarion will be on my hotel break list. All around fantastic value for money, good to see value and deals out there.

11 of us stayed here last Saturday and it was fine, basic although I certainly wouldn't consider it a 4 star hotel, we chose it for the convenient location and being honest that was the highest selling point of it. I did stay at the Crown Plaza in Tyrellstown in February on a lidl break and it was a far superior hotel, accomodation and restaurant wise so I would be more inclined to choose there over the clarion.

the hotel was ok, not as clean as i would expect, and the staff overall were quite nice and helpful but one or two of them were the opposite. as an overall experience it was satisfactory. i think lidl breaks are brilliant and very good value for money, and i would definitely use lidl breaks again in the future or near future. Unfortunately the experience in the clarion was not great, but that won't stop me using your site again. regards lisa

maria stay date 12-03-11 it was ou first time to at this hotel, we had a pleasant time ,rooms clean and comfortable however when my daughter lifted the bung out of the bath she found a large clump of hair underneath i mean large, clearly the bung hadnt been lifted in quite awhile. we had a nice dinner that evening though the portions were a bit on the small side and didnt include vegetables however there were 2 baby carrotts and 2 small mushrooms as a garnish with my husbands steak.this said the service was effitient .i cant say the same about breakfast but to be fair we were pushed for time, we arrived down at 7.45 had to wait abou 5 mins for someone to appear so we could give them our room number she then seated us and disappeared there were only abou 10 other guests there at tis time but still after 10 minutes no body came to see if we wanted tea or coffee my husband had to go and ask. breakfast itself was ok the usual fry no fried eggs only scrambled. the location of the hotel is good and the leisure center is good however i dont think id return. i,ve done a few lidl breaks and they are great value for money but im afraid this stay was less enjoyable than usual

Having stayed here before...we knew what to expect. The room was great ( a family room) very clean with a double bed and 2 single beds. The breakfast was ample too. My one gripe is that residents of the hotel don't get their parking validated...a hidden cost...granted it is only %u20AC4 if you leave your car overnight...but if you have to come in and out of the hotel a few times it can add up. So all in all the hotel is great. I will be staying there again as it is close to the M50 which is a bonus.

Our friends were married in December and we had invited them out to dinner so when we informed them the night was upgraded to a stay over they were more than pleased. Hi we had a great stay @ the Clarion liffey valley, on arrival the girl at the desk was very nice room was lovely pool fab,but we went for our food that evening and found the srvice bad we had to wait a very long time to order and was asked on a couple of occasions for our room number and still billed us at the end when we finally finished our food and was also been charged for 2 dricks that we had ordered but didn't recieve, all in all lovely hotel but think if i were to go back i wouldn't eat in the hotel. I also would like to add that i don't go looking for faults i hate when i see people complain but this was exceptional as they were not very busy ok there was a few there but not that many!! Kind regards Yvonne Lanigan.

We had a lovely stay at the Clarion, although there were a few negative points. Check in took 25-35 minutes, only 2 receptionists on duty. At check in I asked to book a table in the restaurant for our inclusive meal, only to be told, they were fully booked. We had our meal in the bar, food was delicious, but there were alot of people drinking and watching the X factor. bit disappionting when youre looking forward to a nice relaxing meal. We had a swim on sunday morn, pool was nice, bit of a musty smell though. Overall, the hotel is very nice. we would stay there again.

John scored 5 / 5 on 02/12/2010

The hotel was nice and food was lovely but the staff were very unfriendly!! The barman did not want to be bothered serving their customers. They asked for room numbers to ensure we were residents and made us order to the room. The bouncers followed us to our rooms and back and checked our reciepts to make sure those drinking spirits werent pouring their own.. I felt uncomfortable and definitly was not treated like a valued customer. The afternoon staff on the bar were also unfriendly they refused to heat up our pastries and as they were foreign they could not understand our orders.

Hotel was nice - very close to Liffey Valley S.C. The room was nice and clean but was quite dark as there were only 3 lamps and they did not omit much light. Dinner was very good. The place has a nice atmosphere but was very busy the weekend I was there and as a result the breakfast was a bit of a disaster as there were so many people. Good value break for Christmas Shopping!

We stayed in the Liffey Valley Hotel for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. The staff were super and the room we stayed in was lovely and tidy. Only one fault really, and that is the Bar food, which is awful for an Irish hotel, mainly an oriental menu which looking round the bar didnt suit too many people there as no one was eating. How about getting some NORMAL food at reasonable prices on the menu. The hotel would then be perfect.

Niamh scored 4 / 5 on 15/11/2010

Hotel excellent and extremely good value. Nice facilites, free parking, close to shopping, what more do you want. Any criticism - well apart from long queues at the breakfast the only other thing are these extremely hot bed rooms. How they can be that warm with rads turned off and windows open beats me. In any case - we will be back.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is a lovely hotel, ideal for shopping. The lidl offer of dinner , bed and breakfast for this hotel is superb value. However despite phoning the hotel twice before arriving to confirm everything we still found problems with the dinner reservation, when we were finished our meal we were told it wasnt included in our package. I had printed out the lidl breaks booking form which specifically stated two course meal which is what we had. I brought this up with a manager and it was sorted out , however we were embarrassed leaving the restaurant. This has happened to us on a previous visit also. Perhaps lidl customer service team could sort this out with this hotel as the offer is bed breakfast and two course meal .

We both thought the food was exceptional, (dinner and breakfast). the service could have been much quicker at check-in, the tv had very bad coverage in our room, although it had a wide range of music etc so wasnt a BIG let down. The room was lovely. Apart from people knocking on our door at half 3 in the morning and running away, it was quite quiet. The fuse went in our room and we went down to reception for help but it was very slow and had to wait 45 mins before they fixed the problem. things could have been explained to us in more detail but the people were friendly all the same. we also didnt expect to have to pay for parking, but wasnt an issue even though we had to . Over-all we had a good night stay and would reccomend it to our friends and family.

About 3 and a half star, in fact. Very good value for money overall. Staff in general were helpful and pleasant. A few small issues: very poor lighting in the room (not easy to read!); a stale water smell in the BR at times; heating not working in our room (but not cold anyway and they supplied us with a heater); didn't manage to get breakfast one morning because of the length of the queue. Location is excellent and we would stay again, especially at such a good price.

The hotel itself is clean and kept very well. Swimming pool and leisure centre are also very nice. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Only difficulty was with regard to the food and beverage area. The restaurants in the hotel are not staffed adequatley which leads to unnecessary and lengthy periods of waiting to be served. I have to add that I felt the staff at times seemed uncorrdinated with some poor souls run off their feet and others dawdling. The quality of the food was average but nothing that would come close to 4 star 'chic'.

The room was very small for a family room. The pool was packed with parents and kids and yet half the pool was given over to swim lanes and no one using them. The breakfast was very good except that there was a que of about twenty minutes both mornings. the kids play room was just a room with a broken pool table, broken toys and a dvd player. Wouldnt go back.

Myself, husband and three children stayed in the Clarion Hotel, Liffey Valley Suite in August. We were so impressed that we booked to stay an extra night, as the children loved the pool and the rooms that we stayed in where so spacious and clean. The service at the Hotel was always pleasent and I would have no hesitation booking a break there again. The Breakfast was excellent and with a wide variety to suit adults and children alike, the diningroom was well managed and it was a pleasure sitting eating in a well presented diningroom. The Hotel is a short walk from the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, which offers excellent shopping Facilities. It is also a short bus journey to the centre of Dublin. I would highly recommend a stay at this Hotel as we had a stress free break in very pleasent surroundings.

Not scored 5 / 5 on 28/08/2010

The hotel is fine as was the bar/resturaunt. Only problem is our room was cleaned before we checked out and our kids clothes and shoes as well as the toiletries were removed. This was after informing housekeeping that we were still using the room. We tracked down our clothes but the toiletries had been dumped. We reported this to reception and after a long wait for a manager(who did`nt show) we met the housekeeping manager at reception who just laughed in my wifes face and proceeded to say that what we were missing was`nt worh the hastle. He backed up his staff by saying that many people leave their rooms and leave various items of clothing behind and this was his excuse. Very dissapointed not to get as much as an apology from a manager. Don`t think we will be going back there again.4 star for ameneties and no star for satisfaction. Dont let me put you off just be carefull.

We booked for two nights at the hotel and all was well. We decided to stay for another night and the receptionist told us the hotel was full. We were very disappointed and asked her to inform us if she received a cancellation. She continued to say the hotel was full. The following morning after we started packing, another receptionist came on duty. Again we asked if there were any rooms available. This receptionist informed us that there were rooms available and we didn't have to move rooms. This is a disgrace. I am so annoyed at the first receptionist that gave us false information. Angela.

Very disappointed paying %u20AC4.00 per night to park car. We did not get free parking as you mentioned. We stayed 3 nights and paid %u20AC12.00 in total for parking. We thought the hotel was rather pricey. We paid %u20AC6.00 for a glass of red wine from large bottle of wine. Come on ,in LIDL you can get a great large bottle of wine for %u20AC6.00. The room was not cleaned properly. The first night we stayed we saw toothpaste stains on bathroom door. The were still there when we left. We did enjoy our stay in Dublin . It is a great city. Overall hotel was fine, but could improve.

sorry to say but we seemed to be treated like 3rd class citizens because of our good value lidl break, one hour and forty five minutes is a little bit long to wait for your main course which had to be eaten in the bar ! no dining room for us ! .

Hi Stayed in Clarion Liffey valley on Saturday 14th august on a Lidl break, we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary Had a meal in the restaurent staff were very efficent and couldnt do enough for you. I had a sirlion steak and my wife had a duo of salmon and cod for main course met some other customers there everyone was very happy . Spent an hour in the leisure centre on Sunday morning after a very nice breakfast then an hour or so in Liffey valley shopping centre. All in all we had a lovely relaxing enjoyable and very inexpensive break Thanks to Lidl breks we will return very soon.

We (my wife and 2 children) had a very nice stay and had excellent value for money. Well done Lidl and the Clarion Liffey Valley.

had a lovely mid week break with my husband and two children. Very child friendly and the pool was great. Suite was lovely and spotlessly clean. Only complaint was it advertises free parking when in fact there is an overnight charge of %u20AC4 per night which seems a bit ridiculous because if you are staying in the hotel then obviously your car needs to stay too!! Parking was free by day but the overnight charge was a bit rich. Delighted to find Lidl Breaks website though as you really get cheaper breaks and had breakfast included (which was lovely and plentiful!).

The Hotel was extremely busy with queues for checking in/ out and for the restaurant. The computer was down for the duration so this made it more difficult for staff and guests. We had requested a Family room for 2 adults and 2 children but as the family rooms were overbooked we received a room with a double and single and a very uncomfortable camp bed which made the room very cramped. The room was also very noisy as we were close to reception with a corridor door outside our room banging open and closed all night. If we had of been in a different room it would have made a difference. The Hotel is nice and the food is good! We have found the Lidl breaks to be excellent family value and will definitely use them to go on many others.

Very friendly helpful staff, who were very prompt on every single request from us. Room was nice and clean, smelt fresh, very warm. But hotel corridors were a bit grubby. Paying for parking we felt was an unreasonable request. Breakfast was fresh, plenty of it, and very tasty. Having the shopping centre close by was an added advantage. Value for money from Lidl Breaks...EXCELLENT!

Stayed in the Clarion Lifey Valley on a three night Lidl break last week. The staff were friendly, breakfast was good and rooms were clean. The rooms were very stuffy and could do with air conditioning. Another problem we encountered was that as guests we still had to pay for parking and this was not posted on the hotel website.Apart from that it was good value for money and I would stay ther again. A very early morning check in was provided to us by the staff at the hotel which we greatly appreciated. I also have to commend the staff on how they were able to locate a lost digital camera belonging to one of our party. It was a great relief to have found it. I would highly recommend anyone to stay in the Clarion Liffey Valley both for its great staff and its location.

We have stayed here a couple of times. We had only a minor complaint really about the s heat in the room, it was the same last year too but luckily there was a fan. We had booked a family room and there was only a double and a single but when i went down to reception they brought in another bed within half an hr, so could not complain about that. Breakfast was great too, lots of choice between hot and cold buffets. And it is in such a handy location, just off the N4 and right beside Liffey Valley shopping Centre so on that score its hard to beat.

I had a great time and also a great stay in the Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley Dublin, the staff at the reception desk where very helpful every day giving me my passes for the dinner in the restaurant every nite. The rooms were kept very clean and the cleaners were very friendly and the staff in the breakfast room also helped if we didn't know where to sit. The only complaint I have is that two nites before we checked out we were ignored totalled in the restaurant, the head waitress was very ignorant to us because we had vouchers and left us waiting three quaters of an hour for our main course, that nite we only had one meal and that was the main course cause the waitress never came back to take our desert order. That's my only complaint about the hotel and I would love to come back and stay with you again.

We stayed in this hotel on Easter bank holiday weekend. Prior to the stay I had tried to contact the hotel buy email re; beauty treatments and did not recieve any corrospondance back. I had to call the hotel a few days later where they gave me the information i was looking for. The menu in the restaurant looked really good, however when we got our food it was quite cold, perhaps this is because we booked our meal at a busy time. I had ordered the fish and my partner ordered the steak. His steak was ok a little cold and my fish was not good at all. I added a dessert to my meal and when i was checking out the girl at reception asked about our meal and i explained that the fish was really greasy, tasteless and cold and she didnt charge for the dessert. The room in the hotel was beautiful and the location was perfect. All in all my experience in the hotel wasn't great, however i would return to the hotel as the lcoation was perfect.

On arrival in early evening there were breakfast trays, wine bottles and glasses in the corridors. They were still there four hours later when we came back from dinner. In general the hotel was shabby and needed some tlc. At 1.30 a.m. we had to ask to be relocated as people in rooms on either side of us appeared to be chain smoking and the smoke seeped in to our room under adjoining doors. Food was mediocre. I would not stay here again.

We had the worst time ever when we stayed here ill start with the fact there was no air conditioning they had a fan in the bedroom which didn't help as it was 26 degrees also our son is Autistic which we had told them in our request to be put in a part of the hotel that was quiet only to have kids screaming and running up and down the corridor at 2 am when we complained the next morning we where told they would give us an apartment instead that would be very quiet and we where happy with that. As we where going to eat in the restaurant we noticed that there was a bunch of polish guys getting of at our floor with balloons and loads of alcohol and we came back and put the kids to bed right next door to us they had put a 21st birthday party and the music was still pumping at 12.30 when my husband rang the manager on call he said that it was not fair on us and he said he would go up to speak to then which he did we could here him talking to them as the walls where so thin but they shouted and screamed at him and said they paid there money and to go away and call the guards so our poor kids where up untill 4 am as they couldnt sleep and nether could we. The next morning my husband let the day manager have it and told him they had runed our weekend and the manager said sorry and gave us 2 nights free to go back to the hotel but the truth is we havent even used it again as our experiance was that bad! We have stayed in 3 star hotels and 5 star hotels but this was the worst time we had in any hotel ever.... We will go on the free nights only because we have to go for treatment for our son very near the hotel and will review the hotel again and see if it has improved the only thing i can say for now is that it cant be any worse!!

Really nice hotel, good location, very comfortable room, lovely pool & fantastic gym. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was all the confusion and delays in the restaurant with our food. We got either the wrong food or none at all, or the vegetables after we had finished our meals, etc. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

stayed over night in this hotel using the lidl breaks which included a one nights stay - 2course dinner and breakfast. staff were very friendly throughout our stay, room was large, clean, comfortable and included everything we needed. the food for dinner was gorgeous although the menu was a lillte restricted. we went and had a few drinks after in the bar and the music was very good. the only downside was that our room was quite a walk away from the main reception!! all in all a lovely hotel walking distance to liffey valley and also very close to airport and not to far to drive to city centre.

Hi. We stayed at The Clarion Hotel, Liffey Valley for a special family occassion. It was our second time staying there in the last 6 months. The Hotel was great. We found the staff to be very friendly, and the food was first class. I would certainly recommend it.
